Property code: OC-R041

Set on one of Robin Hood Bay’s narrow, cobbled streets, this historic cottage has been modernised inside to create a stylish and welcoming getaway for friends and families at any time of the year. A wood burner provides cosiness in the winter, while in the summer you can relax on the enclosed patio and enjoy the fresh sea air.

Traditional features such as beamed ceilings and original sash windows mix with contemporary yet comfortable furnishings in this appealing three-storey holiday home. Enter straight into the kitchen/diner, a generously sized room equipped with top-of-the-range fittings - a wonderful space in which to gather, eat and discuss your outings. You can sit back and relax in the first-floor lounge, perhaps light the wood burner on a cold evening and enjoy the Smart TV, a DVD, some music or a book from the shelves. There’s also a twin bedroom (with 2’6” beds) on this floor, and an elegant wet room. The two remaining bedrooms - another twin with 2’6” beds and a king-size - are on the top floor, tucked under the eaves and with pretty panelled walls. From the first-floor landing, a door takes you out to the enclosed patio, where you can sit with a drink on a summer’s evening or enjoy breakfast al fresco.

Robin Hood's Bay is located on a dramatic stretch of coastline on the edge of the North York Moors and is surrounded by gorgeous scenery and diverse wildlife. Stay in the village and explore its charming shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, and spend time on the dog-friendly beach rock pooling and searching for fossils. If you want to head out, there are many wonderful walks, both along the coastal path and inland - try the 6-mile stroll along the Cinder Track to Whitby, for example.

Fenay Cottage is fabulous! Beautifully decorated, cosy, with everything you could possibly need. A real home from home. We will be back - thank you for everything.

Overall the cottage was excellent as was the communication from the agent. We wont visit again though as we have a dog and the narrow and steep stair cases woukd have been ok if our dog could walk up stairs, but she cant due to back surgery. So although we had a lovely time and would be suitable for an adult only, no kids, no dogs holiday. It was aRead mores expected, so not the fault of the property description, more about our individual needs. Only other feedback and not something you can change, the Bay is beautiful, but the seagulls are very loud, woke us every morning at 5.30am. Was ok at first, but by day 7, was glad to leave them behind. Hide

Property was exactly as described..but all visitors must be able to cope with the climb back up and the steps..we were fine as we know Robin Hoods Bay..we did have to juggle cars, luggage, a baby and a great grandma but we did expect that.

Fenay Cottage is in a great location, smack bang in the middle of all the tiny winding alleys. The only thing to be aware of is that the car park is a bit of a walk away and you cant unload outside the house, but this is because it is in such a gorgeous location in the middle of all the alleys. The cottage was very clean, in other cottages I haRead moreve stayed at I am thinking about how clean they are or not, but at Fenay this didnt even cross my mind as it was so clean. There are a couple of nice pubs, but the dates we were there, 4-9 Nov, 2 of the restaurants were closed for their winter holiday, returning on 16th Nov. This limited us to eating at The Bay or the Chip Shop. But there are other places to eat at the very top of the village. There are a few shops to visit, more than some other small seaside locations we have been to, and they were mostly open even though it was low season which was nice. The beach is great for walking the dog and there are so many other doggy people around. We loved Robin Hoods Bay and will def go back ?? Hide
