We had a great time at Wildewood Cottage, plenty of logs to keep you warm, fabulous views from most windows, good walking from the door even the weather mostly behaved itself, such a good cottage to get to many of the local walk areas in a short time. Peter and Jayne where very nice people and Peters knowledge of the area was very helpful. Hope to be back again in the near future.
A lovely little retreat overlooking Robin Hoods Bay, with views of sheep behind and horses in front. There's a gorgeous sun trap of a deck at the back. Lots of walking paths all around and close to Whitby, Ravenscar and all the North Yorkshire coast. We were very comfortable here and it's just such a fabulous location to watch the birds and the sunlight on the sea.
Fylingthorpe, Ramsdale and Raw
Fylingthorpe, Ramsdale and Raw are all within close proximity to Robin Hood's Bay, therefore making them an ideal location for beachgoers and walkers exploring the Cleveland Way. Fylingthorpe is a pretty village located four miles south of Whitby. Its name suggests it was a Scandinavian settlement dating from the 9th century and the village boasts amenities including a pub, shop, bakery, picnic areas and a regular bus service.
There's always something happening in the area, with festivals and fairs held throughout the year. For more information on Raw, Robin Hood's Bay and the surrounding area, as well as local events see our Yorkshire Coast Guide and the Festivals & Events Guide.
