Self-catering holiday cottages in Muston

Muston is a sleepy picturesque village south of Scarborough and close to Filey. There are lots of 18th and 19th century country cottages lining the main road and plenty of beautiful gardens to admire. The oldest cottage there was built in 1724. The village pub is “The Swan” which serves food. Muston Hall, built in the early 19th century, stands in the centre of the village and is surrounded by glorious gardens. One of the biggest attractions of the year is the world famous annual, “Scarecrow Festival” held at the end of July. Visitors come from all over the world to enjoy the 100+ scarecrows on display all around the village. Refreshments are served at the pub, the village hall and at the church.

The village is on the route of the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail and for those wanting less of a challenge there are lovely shorter walks along the coast and nearby Yorkshire Wolds. There are also lots of cycle routes in this popular area of rolling hills and gentle valleys.

Muston holiday cottages make an ideal base for exploring the pretty villages of the Yorkshire Wolds, spending time on the beach in Filey or even going surfing in Cayton Bay or Scarborough.
