Description
Sunnybank Thatch is a traditional thatched stone cottage which sleeps 4 and is beautifully finished and decorated with some luxury features, including a Hot Tub which will make a stay here a real experience. If you are looking to stay in a cottage which is everything you would expect from this beautiful area, Sunnybank Thatch is for you. It is situated right in the middle of the delightful coastal village of Hinderwell, close to Whitby and in the North York Moors, famous for its walking trails, stunning scenery, fabulous pubs and restaurants serving delicious food and for the really energetic miles and miles of cycling. Follow the Tour De Yorkshire route and cycle around the hills and valleys whilst marvelling at some of the most stunning views you will ever see. Winter or summer there is so much to do here, with local artisans producing a vast array of products, try all that Yorkshire has to offer, you won’t be disappointed. The cottage has 2 bedrooms a bathroom with a TV, sunbed and balcony, a stunning kitchen, tasteful and elegant furnishings and garage parking. Add to this a woodburner for cosy nights in, or why not take a long soak in the Hot Tub with a glass of bubbles giving you the perfect recipe for a relaxing and luxurious stay.
GROUND FLOOR:
Porch: This is a useful area which has a quarry tiled floor and a stable door. Great place to leave your walking boots or sandy sandals.
Entrance hallway: The hallway has a wooden floor and access to the living room and dining room. There are plenty of coat hooks to hang your coats and the wonderful addition of a fully tiled shower room for dogs only, bring your pampered pooch here.
Living Room: This is a lovely light room which is traditional but with a distinct contemporary twist and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. A wood burner makes this a cosy room summer or winter, visit at any time of the year and you will find a warm and cosy welcome. The room has a comfy sofa and chair with matching footstool. This mixes well with the vintage and antique furniture which adorns this room. There is a stunning view of the moors beyond from one of the windows. A chandelier casts a dappled light and the mirror over the fireplace is really the TV in disguise. Put your feet up in this gorgeous room and while away a couple of hours before venturing out and exploring the Yorkshire Coast.
Dining room: This room is in a perfect position to take advantage of the views of the front garden with its Mediterranean feel. The fireplace (not used) is a real focal point and has a built-in old range with a beautiful beam over. The room has a traditional feel with a beautiful antique corner cupboard, side table made from an old singer sewing machine table and a reclaimed old oak table and matching chairs. If you just want to sit and relax there are two cosy armchairs and one with a matching footstool. If you don’t want to miss your favourite TV show whilst enjoying dinner, there is no need to as there is a wall mounted TV. Kitchen: The kitchen is located at the side of the living dining room. It is a lovely cream shaker style with built in baskets for storage, decorative plate racks and a breakfast bar with four grey leather bar stools. The design does not stop there, there is a large Belfast sink with pewter mixing taps, a ceramic hob with inbuilt electric oven, dark granite worktops, in-built combi microwave, filter coffee machine, fridge with freezer box and a washing machine. The kitchen is well equipped and contemporary. This is a beautifully finished kitchen with everything you would need to prepare a meal for family and friends and make some lasting memories. Wall shelving displays decorative items and crockery.
Downstairs toilet: A beautifully designed little room with fitted oak furniture, a stone bowl sink, toilet, large contemporary heated towel rail to keep you cosy and fully ceramic tiled walls with a decorative inset.
Back hallway.A ceramic floor hallway which leads to the garden and the garage with a stable door to let in the evening breeze.
FIRST FLOOR:
Bedroom 1: A stunning room which has been decorated and furnished in a beautifully individual style. As you walk in you will be met by a brass king-sized bed with a wall-hanging behind and exposed stone walls. Elegant curtains and wallpaper ensure this room has a true luxe feel. There is an old Victorian cast iron fireplace (not used) antique bedside table and dressing table with mirror and built in wardrobes. If you fancy a late-night film or a lazy morning in bed then indulge yourself and watch the TV, perfect!
Bedroom 2: A large twin room which is pretty and spacious. Wallpapered in a country cottage style and with an antique chest of drawers with a mirror, bedside tables and a built-in wardrobe. A TV means you can indulge in some me time or just enjoy the view of the landscaped front garden. There is an original Victorian cast iron fireplace (not used) and a chandelier which adds to the luxury of this very relaxing bedroom.
Half landing: Go up 5 steps from the half landing and you will be faced with a gorgeous view of the moors and fields in the distance. This area leads to the bathroom
Bathroom: Now this is a room you will want to spend some time in, walk in and prepare to be wowed. There is a large spa bath which you access via 2 granite circular steps, the bath has built in lighting and at the foot of the bath you will find a TV, pure luxury. There is a large shower cubicle with a vertical sunbed great in case you are not lucky with the weather. The floor has inset blue spotlights and there is a ceramic bowl sink on a built in oak and granite vanity unit. A toilet completes the sanitary ware. This room leads out onto a balcony overlooking the garden and hot tub. A large heated towel rail will ensure you stay warm and toasty. A lovely latched door is a real feature.
Outside: To the front of the property there is a small garden with large patio trees and decorative touches. The rear garden has access from the rear hallway and has a Hot Tub on the patio, tables and chairs and a half moon lounging chair for those sunny days. This area is enclosed and is a super place to enjoy an alfresco dinner, glass of something fizzy or just a relaxing morning coffee.

Hinderwell
Hinderwell is a small village between Runswick Bay and Staithes. The village has a great amount of community spirit and residents take part in an annual scarecrow competition which makes for family fun viewing as the creations line villager's gardens and businesses. There are many amenities including a butcher, a post office, church, a village hall, fish and chip shop, two inns and tennis courts . Hinderwell is an ideal base for walking holidays as it close to many coastal walking routes. Situated on the A174, it is ideal for those wanting to visit Whitby using the regular bus service. This avoids you paying to park in Whitby's busy car parks.
