Hawsker and Low Hawsker cottages
Hawsker and Low Hawsker are adjoining villages just over two miles from Whitby. Straddling the road between Whitby and Scarborough, Robin Hood's Bay is also just two miles away. The villages offer a tea room and a very good pub, the Hare and Hounds, where there is a beer garden and food is available. There is also a playground and school in the villages which lie within the North York Moors National Park.
Whitby is often referred to as the jewel of the Yorkshire coast and offers shopping, history, boat trips and beaches, whilst Robin Hood's Bay has the character of an old smuggling village built into the cliffs. Both of these destinations get very busy with visitors, so it is a good idea to book a cottage on the outskirts so you can get away from it all when you choose.
