With fantastic views from this lovely village, a Flamborough cottage is a good choice for your self-catering holiday home. Flamborough is an attractive village five miles from Bridlington town centre on the glorious coastal feature of Flamborough Head. The headland is 400 feet high and extends into the North Sea by approximately six miles. It is an excellent centre for birdwatching (there is a bird nature reserve here) with gannets, cormorants and oyster-catchers amongst the varieties you're likely to see here. The coastal path along the clifftops can be a bit windswept but well worth it for the fabulous views. There has been a lighthouse here since 1669; the current lighthouse is prominent on the clifftop and dates from 1806.
The nearby town of Bridlington provides the usual amenities for your self-catering holiday. Events are held throughout the year at the Spa and the sandy beaches and promenades are always popular with visitors. The Old Town provides a quaint backdrop for a bit of shopping and was recently used as the location for the film Dad's Army.
