Poppy’s Retreat is a beautiful five bedroomed house which sleeps eleven in the delightful seaside town of Filey on the Yorkshire coast. On entering the property, you will be met by a lovely original lobby door with stained glass which leads to the hallway with a glistening chandelier and original decorative coving. If you like contemporary design, then this house is for you. Although very on trend, Poppy’s Retreat still keeps some of its lovely old Victorian features. Poppy’s Retreat has many features to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Kick off your shoes and relax in the beautifully stylish rooms decorated and furnished in contemporary style with taste and grace.  All the rooms are light and airy and have a really cosy feel, just right for relaxing after a day in Yorkshire. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook up some tasty meals from all the best produce Yorkshire has to offer, add to this a large dining table at which to seat all your family and friends and you are in for a wonderful and enjoyable gathering. Upstairs you will find five comfortable and relaxing bedrooms all individually styled some with features such as a free-standing bath or a balcony, take your pick but no squabbling! The bathrooms are a delight with beautiful tiling and showers. The living room is a super room with lots of space to gather and enjoy the company of your family and friends, with a woodburner and 55in smart TV you can be assured of a very comfortable stay here at Poppy’s retreat and with everything Filey has to offer within short walking distance you won’t even need to use your car.

Through the front door into the lobby with a large hanging rail for coats and a rack for your boots and shoes.
Hallway: A long hallway with laminate flooring and an under stairs cupboard and pretty chandelier.
Lounge: A light and airy open plan room.  The two large leather sofas are perfect to cosy up on then why not rest your feet on the large leather footstools or lounge on the oversized bean bags whilst watching the 55in smart TV. A lovely bay window lets in the afternoon sunshine and with a wealth of contemporary lighting and stunning mirror this is a room to relax and enjoy.  A feature of this lovely room is the woodburner, the flickering flames and gentle warmth means Poppy’s retreat is a great cosy place to stay all year round.
Kitchen: A well-equipped and very stylish room with grey painted units and a granite work surfaces incorporating a large larder fridge with separate freezer, a drinks cooler with warming setting, two multifunctional Neff electric ovens and grill, a five-burner gas hob and microwave.  The dining area is equipped with a large oak table which extends to fit all your family and friends and has plenty of comfy seating, just the place for a celebratory meal.  There is a dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. Leading from the kitchen there is a small utility housing the washer and dryer. There is quirky modern artwork by Peter Smith and decorative blinds by Orla Kiely. Undercounter and floor level lighting gives a relaxing ambiance.  A door leads to the outside area.
Utility Area: A door leads from the kitchen to the utility area which houses the washer and dryer and a vertical radiator.
Shower room: The shower room is adjacent to the utility and leads off room the kitchen.  There is a tiled corner shower unit with marble styled flooring and a corner sink with storage underneath.
Outside space: A paved area with table and chairs.  There is a hot and cold outdoor tap, just right if you come back from the beach with sand between your toes.  Double gates open from the rear alleyway to give access to parking for one car within the yard.

Bedroom 1:
A stunning room, large and airy with a bay window overlooking the tree lined street.  There is a super king-sized bed with a crushed velvet headboard, storage is provided by a large triple mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets.  A real feature of this room is a free-standing bath on a grey tiled plinth and a large designer sink unit with drawer’s underneath.  A smart TV completes the look, a room to relax definitely with a romantic edge!
Bedroom 2:
This is a twin room with zip link beds which gives you the flexibility to use them as a super king sized bed on request. A wardrobe and bedside cabinets provide the storage and a large wall mounted vertical heater keeps you cosy, however the highlight of this room is a set of French doors leading to a small balcony, why not enjoy a morning coffee with the papers sat in the sunshine, heaven.

Bedroom 3: A double bed with a grey metal bed head and matching bedside cabinets, again a lovely light room with a vertical wall radiator.
Landing: A well designed separate toilet with a small sink.
Bathroom: A Large walk in shower with a large rain head and decorative tiling.  There is a corner sink unit with storage under and mirrored corner cabinet above and hexagonal tiled floor. A heated towel rail ensures a warm and cosy room whatever the weather

Bedroom 4:
This room looks out over the front of the property and the leafy tree lined street.  It has a double bed and single bed both with grey velvet headboards adorned with crystal buttons, a room which is just right for children or a small family.  There is an original Victorian fireplace (not used) an oak beam and very stylish décor.  Bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers provide the storage and a large wall radiator will keep you nice and toasty, the smart TV will keep you amused.  The theme of mustard and grey is both stylish and colourful. PlayStation 3 with blu ray DVD completes the scene.
Bedroom 5: A king sized bed matching painted oak bedside cabinets and wardrobe.  There is another ornate Victorian fireplace (not used) and a large contemporary wall radiator.  A beam runs across the ceiling adding a touch of history and a sloped ceiling gives the room character. 
Bathroom: A beautifully designed room with a large walk in shower with grey metro tiling and a super large rain head shower, just the place to have a morning shower before a day at the seaside.  There is a built-in corner sink with storage under with a large mirrored wall cabinet for all your beauty products and a tall heated towel rail to keep your towels lovely and toasty, the floor is tiled in a stylish geometric style.

Pets: Sorry no pets allowed but the owners sometimes bring their own dogs.

Area Information

Filey is situated between the bustling seaside towns Scarborough and Bridlington. Filey is a small town which started out as a fishing village, but the beautiful sea views have made it a popular place amongst tourists. The glorious Filey beach is one of Yorkshire's finest viewpoints at sunset and day break. The Royal Crescent is well worth a visit as up until the 1950s it was regarded as the most fashionable address in the North of England. The town has great transport links with a railway station connecting you to the nearby resort of Scarborough and the city of Hull. The town is also well connected with bus routes. The annual Folk Festival is held every May where you can catch over 150 acts and the popular Filey Fishing Festival has been held on the first week in September since 1922!
