Stittenham Holiday Cottages

The hamlet of Stittenham is in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area takes its name from Castle Howard, an 18th century Baroque mansion and location for the TV series Brideshead Revisited. With beautiful gardens and grounds, a courtyard with craft shops, a garden centre and of course the amazing house itself, this is a fantastic day out for all the family. Also close by is Yorkshire Lavender in the village of Terrington. Here you can walk round the lovely gardens, visit the specialist plant nursery and enjoy local baking in the tearoom.

Further afield, the area's market towns are all within easy reach. Malton is fast becoming known as the food capital of North Yorkshire and holds regular Food Festivals and Farmers' Markets. Pickering is best known as the starting point of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and as a gateway to the North York Moors National Park. Helmsley is always popular with visitors, with its boutique shops and elegant market square. The historic city of York is just 12 miles away from a Stittenham holiday cottage and offers visitors a huge choice in places to visit, as well as excellent shopping centres.
