This holiday home boasts a peaceful location in a residential area of Whitby, and is perfect for large families and groups of friends. You’ll be ideally placed for spending days at the beach, with the town’s popular West Cliff Beach just 400 metres away. Nearby attractions include Whitby Museum and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (both within 0.5 miles). In the evenings, unwind on the patio with a glass of wine or share family meals in the sociable, open-plan living area.

The home-away-from-home has a contemporary style and an open-plan layout. Spend quality time together in the lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can prepare tasty dishes and dine together around the wooden table. After dinner, unwind on the comfortable sofas to watch TV. Completing the ground floor is a seaside-themed double bedroom and a spacious family bathroom. Upstairs, on the landing, you’ll find a quiet little spot for watching TV or catching up on some emails. The two remaining bedrooms – a double and a twin – are also located on this floor, along with a handy WC. Outside on the patio, enjoy a morning coffee on the bench whilst you plan the day’s itinerary.

Whitby’s main beach is just a short stroll from the property (400 metres) and boasts a 2-mile stretch of golden sand backed by colourful beach huts, which are available to hire during summer months. Across the estuary, to the east of the town, is Whitby’s old town (1.5 miles). Wander amongst the cobbled streets, exploring the independent shops and galleries, before enjoying some delicious seafood in one of the many restaurants. From here, you can take the 199 steps to visit the atmospheric ruins of Whitby Abbey or join the coast path for breathtaking sea views.

Great cottage in a good location. Parking is a premium in Whitby so it was good to know my car was not going to get a ticket or be parked a way off. Comfortable and clean with everything you could need. A short walk into the town with friendly pubs along the way which are dog friendly too which is a bonus.

The Old stables is a very relaxing place to stay. It is fully functional with everything you need. The outdoor space with furniture was a wonderful place to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. I will book the old stables again without hesitation on our next visit to Whitby.

Great location and cottage generally ok. Bath towels small and thin. Could feel springs through downstairs bedroom mattress. Cafetiere would have been nice!

Location was excellent but property was very tired. The smell in the upstairs toilet was unbearable, had to leave extractor on at all times just to make it manageable. Suggest someone checks the drains asap. The sofas were uncomfortable and didn't have enough seats for 6 people

Was exactly as described. Only point I would make is the shower head needs a clean or a power shower installing as it was v weak. Didnt detract from the holiday whatsoever tho.

We had a very good stay after having the news 2 days before we were due to set off to Whitby that the cottage we had booked was flooded and the holiday cancelled. This, of course, a very worrying as we were virtually all set to go.
