The open-plan layout allows everyone to share their holiday time together, whether cooking up a storm in the beautifully appointed kitchen or kicking back after a hard day’s sightseeing and watching the world go by. Choose from two well-presented bedrooms, set up as a double and twin, each with its own bathroom. Both bedrooms have a range of furniture for storing your personal belongings and a matching bedside tables and lamps, ideal for some late-night reading.

Or sneak away to the first floor snug, a cosy room with even better views and the opportunity to be an extra bedroom for one should you wish.

Nan’s Cottage is a beautiful luxurious holiday cottage set in a prime position at the end of the historic Henrietta Street above Tate Hill Sands beach and has perfect unrestricted views of Whitby Harbour and the coastline up to Sandsend. You really will not find a better location and the cottage has stunning coastal views from almost every window. Nan’s Cottage benefits from having private, off-street car parking for a small/medium sized car. The famous Fortunes Kipper Shop is just a stone’s throw, so perfect for popping out for fresh kippers for breakfast. The 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey, St Marys Church and the Cleveland way just a couple of minutes’ walk away, as is the town's many exquisite local shops and wonderful restaurants, you really cannot get a much better location than this.

Hallway: The front door leads into a hallway with space to hang coats and the stairs to the first floor.
Open Plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner:

Lounge Area: The stylish lounge with gas stove in a exposed brick fireplace, is elegantly furnished for comfort after a day on the beach or the moors. The beamed ceiling adds charm and character. There are two 2-seater sofas plus a comfy chair with footstool, three coffee tables, a smart TV on a cabinet, and DVD, a standard lamp and two table lamps.
Kitchen Dining Area: The beamed kitchen is very well equipped and boasts beautiful wood finished units.  You will find a fridge/freezer, gas hob, and integrated electric oven with grill, a dish washer, microwave, and a washer dryer. The circular table will comfortably seat four.
Rear Porch: On entering from the rear this porch is ideal to leave coats and sandy shoes. There is also a ground floor cloak room with WC and small wash hand basin.

First Floor Snug with Fantastic Sea Views: This is the perfect room to relax after a day out sightseeing and enjoy the view of Whitby harbour with the boats going in and out. The modern sofa, which can also be turned into a bed, is comfortable for sitting and watching the large screen Smart TV and DVD. There is also a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet with lamp should someone wish to use the room to sleep in.
Bedroom: An elegantly furnished room with twin beds with bedside cabinet and lamp.  You will also find plenty of storage with an oak wardrobe with drawers beneath. Also, there is a cute dressing table area with a beauty mirror, complementary hairdryer and stool.
Bathroom: The bathroom boasts a bath with thermostatic shower over and glass screen, with matching WC and wash hand basin. There is a tiled floor, mirrored cabinet and towel rail

Master Bedroom: Here, in this beamed ceiling room you will find a king-sized bed with two bedside cabinets and lamps. There is a lovely dressing table area with large mirror and hair dryer supplied and stool beneath. A large wardrobe is provided for clothes storage. Through the dormer window are spectacular views of Whitby Harbour.
Shower Room: This spacious room has tiled floor and a shower cubicle with thermostatic shower.  There is a WC and wash hand basin with a shaving mirror and light over. The room also boasts a large wall mirror.

Area Information

Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
