Reviews

We loved our stay at Arch View - it is a beautiful flat and was very clean and well equipped. The provision of a welcome pack and a decorated Christmas tree was very thoughtful.

Mrs Amanda Briggs,

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your apartment. We have stayed in many houses in Whitby but this was our first apartment and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been so clean, comfortable and modern and so practical down to the kitchen utensils. Usually we bring basics with us like tea towels, washing up liquid etc but you have provided all of these which makes it all so much easier. Thank you also for the welcome pack and for the children's gifts. These little touches will ensure our return in the spring.

The Park's,

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful apartment - will definitely recommend and return. Loved the welcome pack and all the amenities. Thank you

Tom and Katie,

It's been a pleasure to stay in this immaculate apartment and such a treat that everything is so new and clean and comfortable. The location has enabled us to wander into town either up and down the hill or through the park very easily. Thank you for all the extra treats - we've had a great time.

Karen and Murray,

Really enjoyed our stay in Whitby in your apartment. Very nicely decorated and comfortable and great location. Welcome pack a lovely surprise - beautiful flowers! Our time just went too quick and had to leave having not visited some of the lovely places up here. Will just have to come back

Past Customer,

The Muskies,

Had a lovely stay in your fantastic apartment and what a perfect location. P.S thank you for the lovely welcome pack

Past Customer,

Arch View has to be one of the most beautiful, clean and modern apartments in Whitby. A short walk is all it took to get into the bay and there's a wonderful park over the road which features a playarea, musuem and stunning views of the whole city. The apartment has everything needed to enjoy a wonderful trip away.

Jodie,

Area Information

Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year. For more information on Whitby and the surrounding area and local events see our Yorkshire Coast Guide and the Festivals & Events Guide.
