Step inside to find a spacious kitchen/diner with neutral tones, wooden furnishings and a sleek ‘U’-shapped fitted unit with greys and whites. Beneath the contemporary lighting is a dining table with seating for five. Continue into the bright lounge with dual-aspect windows and put your feet up on the plush sofas. Also on the ground floor is a separate WC. Upstairs you will find a family bathroom plus three bedrooms – a king-size with an en-suite, a single and another king-size. Outside is a garden with furniture.

During your stay on the edge of Whitby on the new development you’ll be just 0.5 miles away from the bustling centre where you can find an array of quirky shops, seafood restaurants and cafes. Stroll along the River Esk past the marina to reach Whitby Beach (1 mile). From here you can walk along the shore to reach Sandsend Beach (3 miles). Visit the imposing 657AD Whitby Abbey which can be accessed by the 199 Steps (1 mile). Nearby you’ll also have the Larpool Viaduct and the tranquil Waterfall Cottage nature reserve (both within 1.5 miles) which is filled with walking trails and wildlife.

We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to stay again in the future. There was no anti bacterial spray to clean work surfaces and no loo cleaners ! I went and bought some to use during our stay and take home ! There were no dishwasher tablets but this was not a problem for us as we do washing up the old fashioned way. The TV was described as aRead more Smart TV on the website but it was not actually a Smart TV a bit disappointing. Hide

Lovely, clean, roomy, tastefully furnished inn a quiet & peaceful location. Perfect base for relaxation after spending time exploring historic Whitby & the dramatic coastline. We are looking forward to returning as soon as possible.

The house was in a great location - was far enough from the centre of Whitby to have its own parking, but near enough to walk into town. The house was really clean, organised and had everything we needed. It was an excellent base for our week away.

Super cottage, spotless, well presented and a great location - close to town but also quiet. Recommend wonderful cliff walks on the Cleveland Way, point-to-point, park one end and get the bus back - regular services, but check tides and bus timetables.
