There are some lovely walks from here, including to the charming fishing village of Sandsend at the far end of the beach. Those wishing to explore on two wheels can join the traffic-free Cinder Track, which passes just 0.5 miles away. Whitby is a great base for exploring other coastal towns and villages, including Scarborough (20 miles) and Robin Hood’s Bay (6 miles).
