Pet friendly pubs & establishments
People who are staying in our pet friendly accommodation will often ask us where they can take their pet whilst staying in the area. Of course there are plenty of outdoor opportunities for dogs to stretch their legs and take in the Whitby sea air, but what about inside places where pets are welcome to accompany their owners?
Many of the pubs and cafes in Whitby are dog friendly. The pubs include: The Golden Lion on Golden Lion Bank, The Buck Inn on St Anne’s Staith, The Dolphin on Bridge Street, The Little Angel on Flowergate, The Wellington on Wellington Road, The Fleece and The Black Horse, both on Church Street, The Granby on Skinner Street, The Pier Inn on Pier Road, The Station Inn opposite the railway station and The First In, Last Out on York Terrace.
The Station Inn is very central and provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can enjoy one of their selection of real ales, relax with your pet beside the cosy fire and generally just chill out and enjoy your holiday.
Cafes include: Robertson’s Fish Restaurant on Bridge Street, the Whistlestop Tearooms by the Station, Whitby Humble Pie 'n' Mash on Church Street and Becketts on Skinner Street. Becketts is also a real favourite with locals, having a very relaxed ambience, great food and very welcoming to all. The bonus is shelves of books to read and many a visitor has been seen reading with a cup of coffee in front of them and their dog lying contentedly at their feet.
