Property code: OC-WA101

This stylish holiday home has been cleverly designed to offer all the comforts of home within an open-plan space. Perfect for a cosy break, the cottage has views over the Esk Valley where you can watch the steam trains from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway wind their way through the valley on their way to and from Whitby. The studio apartment is decorated in Farrow and Ball colours, providing an elegant backdrop to the local artwork, and there is a BBQ outside for making the most of the Yorkshire sun.

Enter and find a handy laundry area for washing sandy towels or muddy trousers. There is a well-equipped kitchen with cream units and granite worktops. If you haven't made it to the shops, the Yorkshire goodie-packed hamper will keep you going. You have a great choice of places to eat from the breakfast bar with contemporary leather seats to the separate dining table, to the table and chairs in the garden with those wonderful views. The sitting area has a large sofa and a squishy leather armchair, with patio doors to the garden making this a light-filled space. A wood burner within an attractive stone and wood surround will keep the chill away on colder nights. Provided for your entertainment needs is a large Smart TV with Netflix and a DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and an Apple iPad. The enclosed garden, with furniture and a BBQ, provides lovely outdoor space, perfect if you're bringing your four-legged friends. The bedroom area has a wrought iron, pocket-sprung king-size bed with luxurious bed linens and throws. The bathroom includes a large bath and a separate shower enclosure with a rainfall head.

Sleights is a stunning, traditional village located about 4 miles from Whitby, and is one of the largest villages in the country. Along the bottom of the village runs the River Esk, where many salmon can be seen leaping in the river. Salmon fishing permits can be obtained for anyone interested in trying their hand at fishing. The village has fantastic amenities including a shop, a baker, an award-winning butcher, pubs, a church, a village hall, a fish and chip restaurant and a post office. It is a wonderful location for walks and is perfect for a couple’s holiday.

Undoubtedly a beautiful location, the view from the sofa was outstanding . Beautiful and fully equipped cottage . Any critism would be that it was over stocked, for instance the bread maker took a large amount of kitchen space ! I would agree though that the smell of fresh bread on arrival is a plus . Lots of extras included . A tiny cottage, for Read more2 adults and we only had one small dog although 2 were allowed . Everything was of superb quality , bedding towels etc . Prior to arrival I felt slightly bombarded with messages about not arriving before 5pm . And almost as though we were being watched . We parked up at 4.45 and took the dog for a walk before going into Ewelands . It was quite an uncomfortable start . We also left the day before our due date because of the 9.30 leaving time, again feeling the pressure . Having said that we had a lovely holiday with every comfort provided . Hide
