Ewelands House is a wonderful holiday home, filled with quality fabrics and furnishings to provide stunning accommodation for your Yorkshire holiday. With amazing views over the Esk Valley and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains as they travel to and from Whitby through the valley, this property is well located for a restful break yet close to the ever-popular coastal town of Whitby.

An open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge mean everyone can be together to enjoy the comforts of the five star cottage. If you are fond of a bit of holiday cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped, and there is a charcoal BBQ on the balcony for a spot of al fresco cuisine. Clever design means the comfortable seating in the lounge is gathered around the patio doors that lead to the stone flagged patio, making the most of those fantastic views. Your entertainment has been well considered with Smart TVs in the lounge and every bedroom. There is also an Apple iPad for your use, and you can stream Apple music through the Bluetooth speakers. The bedrooms over flexible sleeping arrangements and the master bedroom has a free-standing bath as well as a separate en suite shower room. Your welcome hamper is full of local treats and a freshly baked loaf of bread will be timed for your arrival - just what you need to get your holiday off to the best of starts.

The cottage is in the village of Sleights, a perfect location for a Yorkshire holiday, within the North York Moors National Park and close to Whitby and the heritage coastline. Situated away from the main road on a quiet lane leading to Grosmont (2.5 miles), a typical Moors village and the location of the engine sheds for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. In Sleights you will find a small supermarket, a Bothams bakery, delicatessen, butchers, fish restaurant and a couple of pubs which serve food. Whitby, is just four miles away, has a wealth of attractions including the world famous Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula, a delightful old town filled with local shops, and a superb range of restaurants and tea rooms.

Ewelands House has a connecting door to Ewelands Retreat (WA101), a beautiful studio apartment below Ewelands House sleeping two people. You can book these properties together.

We have stayed many times at Unique retreats and will no doubt stay again. The accommodation is just gorgeous in every way with Geoff and Jo on hand to help in any way they can. Ewelands House was so nicely decorated for Christmas, really festive and cosy with the log fire burning too. If you are wanting to stay in this area then I cannot think where you would find anywhere better with the icing on the cake being the magnificent view from the windows. All in all, a wonderful place to stay.
