Rosedale Abbey
Rosedale Abbey is a stunning, peaceful village full of natural beauty and is located midway between Pickering and Castleton. It is in the middle of the spectacular valley of Rosedale, which is the direct centre of the North Yorkshire Moors. The village is rich in history and used to be the site of a Cistercian Priory inhabited by a small group of nuns, and remains of the building are available to view. Walkers can enjoy the beauty of the historic Rosedale Abbey set within the rolling hills. The village has great amenities with pubs, a church, an art gallery, tea room, glass studio and village green. The village also enjoys an annual show in mid-August, one of the oldest of its kind in North Yorkshire.
