Property Name: Willows’ End
Description:  Willows` End is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom self catering cottage set over 2 floors, 8 rooms in total. The stone & pantile cottage is one of a row of three at Middlehead Cottages (Cropton Forest), they have been refurbished to a very high standard, and are featured in Alastair Sawday`s Special Escapes,  a prestigious website for inspected and recommended self-catering accommodation. Entrance to the cottages is through a conservatory reception and along an internal, well- lit corridor with arched windows and doors looking out to a central courtyard.

Pre-arrival: The cottages are located at the end of a 1/4 mile privately owned road, which is single track with passing points.
The nearest bus stop is:  Due to our rural location, there aren't any bus stops nearby although the Moors Bus (www.moorsbus.co.uk) runs from Friday 3rd May up until Sunday 29th September.
The nearest train station is:  The nearest main town with train links is Pickering – 9 miles (22 minutes)
The nearest food shop is:  Pickering is the closest market town with a Co-Op supermarket, large Lidl & several good grocers, bakers and butchers. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar are provided on arrival welcome tray. Tesco will deliver if you would like to order your shopping, please give them our No 01751 471540 for delivery details/ directions.
The nearest pub/restaurant is: ‘The White Swan’ in Newton upon Rawcliffe 2.2 miles (7 minutes), ‘The Fox & Rabbit’ on Whitby road & many more in Pickering.

Any other information:  All cottages have oil central heating, and have a centrally wired fire alarm system, which is serviced annually and certified as required by law. A full fire risk assessment has been carried out by North Yorkshire Fire Service which has been actioned and approved to the maximum safety requirements. There is a full automatic emergency lighting back up system in case of power cuts, ensuring guests safety until alternative lighting can be arranged, or until the power is restored. Instructions in case of the fire alarm going off or a power cut are in each cottage, and fire exits out of the building are clearly marked and lit.
The keys in the bedrooms open/ lock bedrooms, the main door to the cottage and the conservatory.

Willows’ End Cottage sleeps five guests in three bedrooms (each with its own spacious en suite) and is situated in Cropton Forest in the North York Moors national Park.  Cropton is a small village with stunning views over the moors and has a popular pub the, “New Inn” which is the home of The Great Yorkshire Brewery and Cropton Brewery. A great place for a meal and a tipple. Willows’ End Cottage is close to all that the North York Moors has to offer, including wildlife, nature trails and cycling and walking for the adventurous. The coast is just a 30 minute stunning drive away on the ancient Wheeldale Roman Road with twisting lanes, ferns and trickling becks – perfect to park up and picnic. Willows' End has a hot tub on the decking.

Willows’ End Cottage is stylishly decorated and furnished, a traditional country Cottage and very spacious. Think original features, such as wooden floors, beamed ceilings and a lovely feature fireplace with woodburning stove in the living room. This is a cottage suitable for couples or families or small groups to enjoy time together away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, sit back and relax, you will enjoy your stay in this delightful cottage. Entrance:  from an enclosed cloistered hallway with access to the garden courtyard with ample seating to enjoy breakfast al fresco. Large log basket with all the dry logs you’ll need for your stay.
Living Room: The living room is a delightful light and airy room beautifully decorated with a wood burning stove just perfect for those chilly evenings. Comfy chairs and sofas provide plenty of seating to sit and enjoy the company of family and friends. This is a charming room and has some lovely period features such as a fire surround with a beamed mantel over and stone hearth, a lovely light oak beamed ceiling and decorative radiator covers sit beneath the two large windows with views towards the newly excavated fishing pond, meadows and Cropton Forest. There is a large smart TV to curl up in front of after a day walking the moors, an occasional table and coffee table complete the traditional style of this very comfortable room.
Kitchen/Dining room: Another good-sized light and airy room. It is furnished with cream shaker style units and wooden worktops. White tiles above the units and decorative tiling behind the electric/gas range style cooker which has a traditional mantel over. This is a well equipped kitchen incorporating a microwave, UBL IPod docking station radio alarm, dishwasher, built under fridge and separate freezer. A round pine table seating five guests who can enjoy a meal and share special times together. This room is complemented by a quality oak floor and a beamed ceiling.

Bedroom 1: This is a lovely room with two windows, both with views. Either a Zip and link King-size bed or two singles with a decorative headboard dressed with stylish linen. The bedroom furniture is all in a traditional solid oak including a bedside table, dressing table with an oval mirror, chest of drawers and two occasional chairs and a wardrobe. A luxurious carpet, beamed ceiling and a wall mounted TV complete the scene.
Ensuite: This is a good-sized room with a white suite including toilet, wash hand basin and shower with thermostatic shower over and a wall mounted heated towel rail. Complimentary toiletries, toilet rolls, soaps, towels, bath mats etc are provided. The walls are cream painted and have part tongue and groove panelling completing the country look. The flooring is of quality solid oak, a charming room.
Bedroom 2: A stylish bedroom in traditional cottage style incorporating twin beds which could be made up into a Zip and Link King sized bed with an oversized headboard. Matching wardrobe, bedside cabinets and chest of drawers complete the elegant furnishings. There is a wall mounted TV for you to enjoy lazy mornings or early nights relaxing in your comfy bed. The pretty bedlinen, throw and cushions ensure this is a room in which to feel relaxed and comfortable, ensuring an excellent night’s sleep.
Ensuite: This is a good-sized light and airy room with a white suite including toilet and wash hand basin. There is a fitted cubicle shower unit. The walls are cream painted and have stylish tongue and groove panelling and solid oak flooring.
Bedroom 3: A stylish and elegant room with a single bed and beautiful headboard in wood and cane, delightful linen a bedside cabinet and wardrobe with a mirrored door continue this elegant theme. A tranquil and charming room. Overlooking the fishing pond, meadow and forestry.
Bathroom: With a white bathroom suite including toilet, wash hand basin and bath with thermostatic shower over and shower curtain and a wall mounted towel rail.  The walls are cream painted and half tiled, completing the country look. The flooring is of quality solid oak wood, a charming room.

Pets: 3 dogs welcome. Pet fee is £15 per pet payable in cash to owners on arrival.
Parking: Available in the ample free private car park (tarmac).

Short breaks: From two nights in low season and four nights during high season and Christmas/New Year.

The bustling market town of Pickering is a great place to enjoy a self-catering break. Our cottages in Pickering offer easy access to the town centre while the Vale of Pickering offers a peaceful location to relax. On Mondays you''ll find the popular Pickering Market in the town and there are a variety of independent shops to potter around, with cafes and tea rooms to drop by and indulge in after a day of exploring. You'll be spoilt for choice for things to do in the area, from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway taking you from Pickering to the coastal town of Whitby through breathtaking moorland, Pickering Castle and the Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life. Each October you'll catch the annual Pickering War Weekend, where the town is transported back to the 1940s with fantastic costumes, stalls and period vehicles everywhere to be seen.
