This beautiful cottage on a working farm on the outskirts of the market town of Pickering is ideal for couples looking for a peaceful holiday and plenty of space to relax. Pickering is less than two miles away, with a weekly market, access to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and historic Pickering Castle to explore.

This attractive property with a ground floor and mezzanine is wonderfully spacious and has exposed brickwork walls in the open-plan lounge/dining area. The solid oak furniture, underfloor heating, country style, and themed artwork on the wall offer guests a real sense of homeliness. On the ground floor, the lounge/dining area has a comfortable sofa to unwind after a day of exploring, where you can watch the Smart TV and stay cosy on cool evenings with the electric fire. French doors lead out to the garden, and stairs lead to the first floor. The contemporary kitchen has everything you need to create romantic meals, while a bathroom completes the downstairs features. On the first-floor mezzanine is the gallery bedroom with a double bed, TV and a door leading out to a balcony with outside seating. Outside is a private garden with a patio for dining alfresco, extensive grounds, and a riverside walk.

Walkers and cyclists will love this area of Yorkshire, so head to Dalby Forest Visitor Centre (8 miles) as the starting point for many breathtaking walking or cycling trails through 8,500 acres of forest. The Howardian Hills are 18 miles away, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the pretty village of Hutton-le-Hole (9 miles) is located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park – so there are plenty of access points for walks. Alternatively, for a day at the seaside, head to Scarborough and enjoy the beach, some fresh local seafood and the view along the coast from the headland castle.

The cottage was clean and well equipped. In a lovely quiet location, but near to Pickering. The owners provided a lovely welcome pack, and everything worked perfectly. We really enjoyed the break and would be happy to go back

Great cottage and location, lots of animals, near to NY Moors, NYM Railway, Whitby, Scarborough, Robin hoods Bay etc. Very clean and all you need plus more, good size with private garden and balcony. Great friendly hosts there if needed. Lovely walk by the river and pond, couldn't fault it, look forward to returning, worth the drive from South EastRead more. Hide

because the property location was very good the owners where very helpful and welcoming and we could walk round the farm and enjoy the animals. the one thing that needs adding to directions is if using sat nav when it says you have reached your destination you need to go the best part of a half mile further up the road.
