This thriving market town of Kirkbymoorside approx 25 miles north of York and nestled between the market towns of Pickering and historic Helmsley. Kirkbymoorside ('Kirby') is a friendly, proper village rather than a tourist town and is close to some great walking and cycling routes on the North York Moors. Pickering has the famous N Y Moors steam railway, as featured in many films and TV series where you can enjoy a delightful ride through the countryside to Grosmont with the option to alight at intermediate stations and enjoy a local walk to make a full day of it.
