This beautiful and spacious house, less than half a mile walk to the historic market town of Helmsley, is perfect for families or friends looking for a relaxing holiday gathering. Helmsley has retained its medieval layout, interesting period stone-built cottages, and many charming traditional shops and tearooms surrounding the marketplace. Take some time to stroll and look around the historic Helmsley Castle (0.5 miles).

An attractive property, set over two levels, elegantly furnished with fascinating artefacts, furniture, and antiques. Downstairs the kitchen/diner is a wonderful space to relax, eat and entertain, with a large table and a contemporary kitchen with all the appliances you need to create a celebratory meal. The adjacent family area provides additional space to watch TV or play games, keeping it social. The separate lounge and garden room offer plenty of space to chat. The lounge has two comfortable sofas, a TV and underfloor heating, making it a great year-round escape. Double doors lead through to the garden room. There are four bedrooms on the first floor - a king-size with an en-suite bathroom and patio doors but no balcony, two twin rooms (one with an en-suite bathroom) and a queen-size with patio doors giving a view to the garden. Outside is a large front grassed area and patio area to the rear of the property with a seating table and chairs and a BBQ.

There are lots of local attractions, with Duncombe Park - the beautiful dwelling of the Barons of Feversham and the International Centre for Birds of Prey less than two miles. Head further afield and discover the historic Rievaulx Abbey (3 miles), Nunnington Hall (6 miles) and the Sutton Bank National Park Centre (8 miles), where you can have cycling and walking adventures while taking in some spectacular views.

Beautiful property with everything we needed for a family holiday. Big kitchen and living room for socialising, many bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The property is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Helmsley with lots of great pubs, restaurants and shops - we wish we could have stayed longer to try them all. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent setting near centre of Helmsley yet in a quiet location this property was very comfortable for a group of adults. Kitchen was well equipped with a large dining table that enables everyone to eat together with plenty of room, not always the case we have found in rental properties. Friendly host lives in building at rear of property. PlentyRead more of off road car parking. We all liked Helmsley and recommend it. Hide

We stayed at Cherry Tree House for four nights. The House is lovely and is very well located so close to the village. The Kitchen/living room is amazing and the bedrooms are very comfortable with good quality linen. The rear garden is secure for dogs. Helmsley is a wonderful Yorkshire village with a great selection of independent shops and bakerieRead mores/delicatessen. The local pubs/restaurants/cafe's are excellent and mostly dog friendly. |We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return. Hide

Cherry Tree House was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. The host was very pleasant, helpful and obliging. It was suitable for our young children, with lots of room to use and an enclosed garden. It is situated in a quiet area but we could walk to the square in a few minutes. Cherry Tree Gouse was lovely clean and comfortable. Harry and Chris very helpful. Just a couple of things the shower curtain could do with being replaced with a glass screen or door and the patio area could do with a spruce up but appreciate it was probably the first decent weekend we have had to sit out

This is our second consecutive visit to Cherry Tree House. Perfect for a family get together. Lots of space, very warm and cosy for our winter visit. Excellent location being so close to Helmsley but equally peaceful. Lovely helpful host.
