The picturesque village of Ebberston is in the perfect location for those who wish to explore both the beautiful Yorkshire coast and the North York Moors. The village has a wonderful church dating back to the Norman times with several stunning stained glass windows and a lovely village pub that serves food. Ebberston Hall, a 17th century Palladian Villa in miniature, is well worth a visit and is open to the public all year round and to the north of the village you’ll find Chafer Wood, a nature reserve which has undergone extensive work with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust recently to reintroduce the native wildlife fauna and flora. For a great range of shops visit the nearby town of Pickering which has a mix of supermarkets, independent boutiques and a superb market on a Monday.
If you’re feeling adventurous how about a visit to Go Ape, a forest adventure based 4 miles away in Dalby Forest, or for something more relaxed try visiting Betton Farm, a working honey farm with petting zoo 6 miles away on the outskirts of Scarborough, or enjoy a relaxing day at the beautiful village of Thornton le Dale, less than 5 miles away.
