A beautiful cottage in a lovely location, ideal for peace and quiet and walking / exploring, the wild birds around the cottage were delightful as were the clear skies, no light pollution to spoil star gazing, the hosts were very welcoming but not intrusive on hand if you have any problems which we didn't.
Lovely property, well equipped, clean and nicely finished. Received a warm welcome from the hosts. Sad to leave at the end of our stay, we would happily return again.
A gorgeous little converted barn that was the perfect location for our honeymoon. A warm and friendly welcome from owners Jane and Adrian who live next door. Lots to do in the area from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Whitby, Scarborough and the quaint nearby town of Pickering. If you're lucky enough to get some clear skies, make sure you spend an hour outside after dark for some spellbinding views of the night sky!
A perfect peaceful getaway with a great welcome.
What a fantastic find! Honey Pot Barn is a really lovely converted barn in the Yorkshire countryside. Lovingly converted with everything we needed for our week's stay. You overlook a field full of sheep and lambs, and there are donkeys too! The owners are fantastic - on hand if you need anything but youre also never in the way and have plenty of privacy. Cropton is a small, pretty village with a pub a short walk from the barn. The village has great access for the moors and the coast, so plenty of things to do.
Cropton is a quiet unspoilt village near Pickering, dating back to Doomsday. It is situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and offers easy access to the Yorkshire Moors, Coast and the Historic City of York. Many stunning walks are available in and around the village and there is a site which contains the site of a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle with spectacular views of Rosedale valley, and another field is filled with wild orchids through the summer months. The New Inn at Cropton offers both bar and restaurant meals and is home to the famous Great Yorkshire Brewery, a short stroll from Honey Pot Barn. The area provides plenty of opportunity for walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, golf and swimming. North York Moors Steam Railway, located 10 minutes drive away in the Market Town of Pickering, winds its way through the dramatic Newton Dale Valley to the seaside resort of Whitby. For those looking for more adventure Flamingo Land and Go Ape at Dalby Forest are in easy reach.
