Access Statement for Hardhorn Breaks

 

Introduction

 

Hardhorn Breaks consists of four self catering units.  The Barn is wheelchair accessible with a ramp to the front, lower kitchen units and a wet room. The Hayloft is all on first floor level and consists of a double and twin room.

 

The Shippon has the kitchen and the lounge on the ground floor and twin and double bedrooms on the first floor along side the bathroom.

 

The Granary has four bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor. There are three bedrooms on the  ground floor and another single bedroom, toilet and shower room plus lounge and kitchen on the first floor.

 

Pre- Arrival

 

Each apartment is supplied with a welcome pack containing information such as the the nearest Doctors, hospital etc.

 

Arrival and car parking facilities

 

There is ample car parking for up to eight cars in total. Parking for the Barn is by the ramp at the front of the apartment.

 

Main entrance and reception

 

The Barn has two entrances both at the front and to the rear.

 

The Hayloft has one entrance from a cobbled yard and has a flight of stairs (10 steps)

 

The Shippon has two steps and the front.

 

The Granary has one step into it and has a staircase to the first floor (10 steps)

 

Public areas- general

 

All apartments are carpeted, have tiled kitchen / bathrooms. All are fitted with a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm.

 

Laundry

 

The Shippon and the Granary have a washing machine/drier which are front loading.

 

The Barn and the Hayloft share a washing machine in a nearby outbuilding.

Description

The Hayloft is a loft-style apartment on the first floor. The character beams provide focal points in the sloping ceilings and the exposed brickwork hints at this buildings former use. The apartment is spacious and comfortable; an ideal holiday home for couples or families.

This is one of a complex of four cottages located in the pretty village of Hardhorn close to Poulton-le-Fylde on the beautiful Fylde Coast. Each cottage has been very comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated and is very well equipped. Situated on a former working farm on the edge of the village, the cottages are a great location from which to explore the many attractions of this area. Lancashire's golden coastline, including the fabulous attractions of Blackpool, is just a short drive away. For those wanting a quiet relaxing holiday exploring the surrounding countryside by car or bicycle, this is an excellent base.

Two leather sofas and pine furniture provide comfortable furniture in this relaxing room. The beams and exposed brickwork, which is particularly attractive above the arched window, are lovely features. TV and stereo.
Kitchen/Diner: Gas hob, electric oven with grill, microwave, fridge with ice box. Dining table and four chairs.
Bedroom 1:  Double bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers. Exposed brickwork  and beams provide character focal points in this spacious room.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers. Exposed brickwork on one wall.
Bathroom:  Bath, shower over the bath, toilet, washbasin.

Pets: One well-behaved pet welcome.
Outbuilding: Washer/Dryer. (shared with The Barn)
Garden:  Large shared garden area with patio area and garden furniture.
Parking:  Ample parking.
Heating:  Gas central heating.
Short Breaks:  Not accepted at peak times.
Notes: There is one small step up to each room from the landing. Towels are provided. Cot and high chair. WiFi is available at an extra charge payable direct to the owner. No smoking at this property. Mobile phone signal is weak.
