Bolton by Bowland cottages

Bolton by Bowland is a picturesque village in the Ribble Valley and close to the Trough of Bowland. The village is arguably one of the most beautiful in the Ribble Valley and is popular with tourists as well as visitors from the surrounding area. The village has two village greens, the smaller of which has a 13th century cross and old stocks, as well as a beautifully maintained memorial garden. The village has a great sense of community with a tea room, pub, church, cricket club and even a gift shop for visitors to enjoy. Our Bolton by Bowland cottages are also ideally located to explore the nearby towns of Clitheroe and Skipton, as well as the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearby Rainsber Scar is known by the residents as Pudsay’s Leap where local William Pudsay leapt across on horseback when being chased by officials for minting his own coins. The scar is a beautiful place to enjoy a walk or a picnic. There’s plenty of things to do in Lancashire, from visiting the nearby Clitheroe Castle Museum to exploring the Pendle Witches Trail.
