A traditional three storey semi-detached cottage in the rural village of Orton. Modernised to create a stylish and spacious holiday cottage. A stunning open plan kitchen/lounge and dining area on the top floor. This property sleeps 6 in three bedrooms across 2 floors with 2 modern bathrooms. With quiet roads and footpaths lined with wild flowers this makes a wonderful base to explore the Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. With the Coast to Coast Walk and the Cumbrian cycle Way on the doorstep.
LOWER GROUND FLOOR:
Back door entrance in to a small porch leading into a double bedroom and utility room.
Bedroom 1: King-size bed, wardrobe, hair dryer. Door to utility room (low doorway).
Utility Room: Accessible through the bedroom and back door. Washing machine, tumble dryer, travel cot, high chair, stair gate, picnic items, dog bowls, fire guard and clothes airer.
Bathroom: Bath, washbasin, toilet, heated towel rail.
11 Steps to ground floor.
Bedroom 2: King-size bed, wardrobe with shelves, TV.
Bedroom 3: Twin beds, wardrobe, (low doorway with arched door). Suited more for children.

A most wonderful stay in this delightful village. Plenty of cycling and walking from this perfect base and too far to travel in to The Lake District and Yorkshire Moors. Food and hospitality t the pub was fantastic. We will be back.

Fabulous house! Everything there we needed. Visited Ullswater and loved Haweswater Reservoir. Nice meals over at The George. Definately come back for another visit.
Lovely time at the cottage. Visited Hawswater to see the sunken village and the waterfall at Ullswater. The pub over the road is lovely! All in all we had a lovely time.
The small market village of Orton lies 15 miles south of Penrith, 8 miles from Appleby-in-Westmorland and just under 2 miles from the M6 motorway near the Lake District. From the cottages in Orton you can enjoy many beautiful walks and Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk passes through the village on its way to Kirkby Stephen. Nearby Orton Scar boasts picturesque views over the Lake District. The village itself offers a traditional inn called the George Hotel and Kennedys handmade chocolate shop and factory, as well as tea rooms, a village store and post office.
