My second visit to Lavender Cottage situated in the lovely village of Sleights. Very well presented and equipped for a relaxing break/holiday. Ideal location for visits to Whitby, Sandsend and Goathland etc. Rosemary kept in regular contact and offered suggestions for things to do. Can highly recommend.

The cottage was very clean & well equipped. Although the cottage is on a main road, we didnt find it noisy & didnt affect our enjoyment of the cottage. The welcone pack was very thoughtful for us & Milly the dog. Well situated for touring the surrounding area. Rosemary was also a good source of information on walks etc in the area.

Lavender Cottage was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The village was lovely with good facilities and good public transport links. There was plenty to see and do in the area and we had a very enjoyable stay. Also the owner Rosemary was very helpful with information about the locality.

We had clear instructions on how to enter the cottage. Opening the door we were greeted with the scent of lavender. It bought back many lovely memories. Beautiful, homely and characterful cottage with a good parking space, for two medium sized cars, out of the hubhub of Whitby, but close enough to easily visit Whitby, Sandsend, Goathland, Grosmont and other places on the North York Moors. The beds and bedding were very comfortable with nice bedding and the bathroom was beautiful with roll top bath Read moreand powerful separate shower. We loved the local high quality butcher's and baker's shops and also the food and ambience at the local Garden Centre with its Riverside Cafe, at adjoining Biggwath village. Goathland Tea Rooms also provided a good value breakfast in lovely garden surroundings. The only unalterable downsides to this cottage were the lack of storage space in the twin bedroom and the traffic noise from early morning until approximately 7.00pm whilst in the front garden. This meant that we did not sit out in the lovely space provided. The road is the main Pickering to Whitby Road, but traffic noise was not a problem when inside the house or in the back yard. In all other respects, Lavender Cottage was a perfect place to stay and we were upset to leave it. We were also grateful to our host for her friendly and welcoming support and advice to us, via text, for what is clearly a dearly beloved second home for her. Hide

Loved our stay at Lavender cottage. It had everything we needed and the beds are very comfy. The nearby playground was a hit with our kids. Botham's bakery a few mins walk down the road is great, and would recommend the River Caf gardens for a meal.

A lovely spotlessly clean, cosy and well-equipped cottage with easy parking even for a large car, and lots of thoughtful little details. The only drawback for us was the staircase which has a right angled bend half way up, and wouldnt be suitable for anyone frail or with mobility problems.
