Treat yourselves to a quiet and comfortable stay on the fringes of Melmerby in the Yorkshire Dales. Sleeping four guests, this single-storey, two-bedroom cottage looks out across Coverdale. Close to the owner’s home and another holiday cottage, it enjoys great privacy and a private patio where you can unwind after your excursions and take in the views. There is also a wood burner for winter relaxation and a shared garden where children and pets can play.
Wander inside to find accommodation with an abundance of character and features such as original beams and stonework. There are some internal steps here too. From the entrance, wander through to the lounge, which has a vaulted ceiling, to stoke up the wood burner and settle down to read your books or watch the Smart TV. There is also a conservatory for anyone who fancies some quiet time to themselves to simply take in the views. Make your way into the kitchen/diner by taking three steps down. Find everything you need in here to help you cater for your party with your own ingredients, then dine together at the table. When the day draws to a close, wander off to either the double bedroom or the twin. There is also a family bathroom. The cottage has access to shared laundry facilities. Dine out in the sunshine on summer days and warm evenings. There is private parking with this cottage.
Head off on long walks through Coverdale and across the moors from the cottage. Take time out to visit famous Aysgarth Falls, 6.5 miles from your base. Take the children to explore the magical gardens at the Forbidden Corner, just 2 miles away. The historic ruins of Jervaulx Abbey nestle in beautiful surroundings, 6.5 miles from the cottage and also make a great day out.
