This elegant spacious period property offers the perfect base for a seaside break as it’s ideally located close to Whitby town centre, crazy golf and beach. This spacious four-bedroom property, presented over four floors, has been renovated to a high standard and sleeps eight people. It even boasts the added benefit of a games room on the lower-ground floor allowing hours of endless fun for children of all ages.

Enter at the ground floor and walk through the hallway which leads to the lounge. Here, you’ll find comfortable seating, a TV and DVD player, books, games and a coal-effect electric fire. The kitchen has white units and all the appliances needed to cater for a large group, and the dining area has an extendable table and chairs. There is also a handy WC on this level. Also on this level, there’s a utility room and a family bathroom. Back upstairs, the first floor houses three bedrooms and another bathroom. One bedroom is a double, another is a twin with a TV and a third is a bunk room. The master bedroom can be found on the second floor and comprises a double bed, a TV and has Velux windows. This room is served by an en-suite which has both a shower and a bath. To the rear, an enclosed yard gives the perfect setting for al fresco dining and is complete with garden furniture.

One of the most picturesque ports in England, Whitby and its harbour are set in a ravine at the mouth of the River Esk. Dominated by the cliff-top abbey ruins, the narrow alleys and cobbled streets climb down to the busy quayside, with its harbourside houses and quaint shops filled with arts, crafts and antiques. Whitby needs little in the way of introduction as it is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the region. Spend your days with a bucket and spade on the long sandy beach and when you’ve worked up an appetite, sample some of the seafood in one of the many cafes and restaurants that make the town so well-known far and wide! There’s always something happening throughout the town, and festivals and fairs are held throughout the year including the Whitby Goth Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta.

Location and water pressure excellent. Everything else, very disappointing.... We specifically booked this property for the games room to keep our teens and tweens happy. There were no games, just a load of broken/ mixed up puzzles. There was no table and no ball for the table football. The TV didn't work. There was an inventory full of kitchen Read moreequipment - unfortunately a lot of this was missing or broken. My mum cut herself on a broken mug that had been put back in the cupboard. There was broken stuff all over the house, including a kick board in the kitchen, blind in the upstairs bedroom, shower head in the main bathroom. The level of cleanliness is the worst I've ever experienced. We were asked when we'd like the cleaners to come back. I said between 9 and 9.30am, so we all got up and dressed, waited in and noone turned up. No-one was answering phones. In the end, we went out about 11 and apparently the cleaners came about 4, but it wasn't much better. Some of the customer service was ok and a couple of games and sets of glasses were dropped off, but unfortunately it was too little, too late. I wouldn't stay here again until a lot of work has been put into this poor unloved house. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk - thank you for your feedback this has been passed onto the management team and the owner to rectify these issues for future guests and improvements have been planned by the owner. Back door and windows were jammed. Cellar was extremely damp and a health hazard. Games were all broken including table football. Books were so old and so few. No instructions for appliances. Back yard was filthy nothing like photographs. Workmen came to do hedges were were not informed and we had young children present. Back door and toilet door aRead morend windows jammed. We got stuck in the downstairs toilet. Baking sheets in kitchen rusty. The back gate needed attention as the young children could get out onto the hotel car park. This property had obviously just been decorated so it looked lovely. Expected facilities to match the price. The description and some photographs were misleading. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk - Thank you for your comments the feedback has been fed back to the management team for their attention. Hide
