Gather your family and escape to this two-bedroom stone cottage located at the top of a cliff, just a mile’s walk from the charming seaside village of Staithes. Inside the single-storey accommodation, the spacious open-plan interior with underfloor heating is a stylish place to take the weight off your feet and unwind, while the shared patio outside boasts a bubbling hot tub for the ultimate in relaxation.

Head up the ramp to enter the cottage and make yourselves at home in the inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. Here, a large corner sofa sits in front of the TV, so you can catch up on your favourite box sets while another member of the family prepares some snacks in the well-equipped kitchen space adjacent. A wooden dining table seating four offers a place to enjoy board games and home-cooked meals together. When sleep calls, there are two double bedrooms to choose from (one of which is accessed via two steps), and both feature an en-suite wet room. When the sun is shining, make the most of the patio outside, with an indulgent seven-seater jacuzzi, shared with the property next door.

Enjoying a scenic spot in the hamlet of Cowbar, a place loved by artists, photographers and birdwatchers, there are plenty of opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors, right from the doorstep. Just 1 mile away is Staithes, once the home of the famous explorer Captain James Cook – the Staithes Heritage Centre provides a fascinating insight into his life and career. Those with children might also recognise the winding streets and charming harbour as the setting of the CBeebies series, Old Jack’s Boat.

We had a wonderful stay in Tawny Owl. The cottage has everything you could ever need, plus we were left some goodies for when we arrived which was lovely! The hot tub was wonderful and much needed after lots of walking and exploring. The walk into Staithes is easy and it is a lovely little village to walk around (we recommend food and drink at the Read moreCod & Lobster). Fabulous location with many lovely beaches, walks and nice towns close by. We will definitely return, thank you. Hide

We love this cottage! It was our second stay at tawny owl and it is a great place to stay. We love the location, a short walk to staithes and within east reach of lots of other great places. Its clean and cosy, and the kitchen is surprisingly well equipped. We loved the hot tub and there was plenty of space in the house for us - family of four - foRead morer a week without feeling cramped. You can hear the road from the property but it didnt bother us. Fabulous location and lovely cottage. The water was cold the first morning (COOOLD SHOWER). The weather was so warm we didn't have the heat on... and it seems like the heat has to be on for the water to be warm. I heated one-half of the cottage (the bedroom we didn't stay in) and the second morning the water was warm. So we figured it out. LovRead moree this place. Will stay again soon! Hide
