A beautifully-presented first-floor apartment in a quiet residential close just 1 mile from Whitby’s iconic quayside. Featuring a cosy lounge, a bright kitchen/diner and a patio garden, this apartment is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic getaway close to the coast with easy access to the North York Moors National Park.

The apartment has a homely ambience thanks to its mixture of comfortable soft furnishings and a soothing colour palette found across its spacious living areas. Entering via a hallway and stairs at the rear of this converted manor house, the cosy lounge has a rustic appeal, a lovely area to curl up in after a romantic meal that was prepared and served in the bright kitchen/diner next door. The welcome embrace of the double bedroom is hard to leave in the morning, though a long soak in the large bathroom nearby could be the perfect excuse to slip away. A handy utility room stands close by, perfect for bringing clothes back to life. A patio area is available below for relaxing with refreshments to hand.

Whitby’s charming town centre, quayside and pier lie 1 mile from the property, an area rich in maritime history and now lined with couple-friendly cafes, pubs and restaurants serving the catch of the day. The views from Whitby’s clifftop abbey are worth the 199-step climb from the old town alone. Robin Hood’s Bay (7 miles) has been popular with generations of visitors to North Yorkshire, while the beautiful vistas of the North York Moors National Park (2.5 miles) are a must for keen walkers.

We have stayed at Stakesby house for the last 3 years, and love the location, and the facilities available. The apartments are decorated very tastefully and are comfortable. It was lovely to have a bath, as we don't have one at home

We enjoyed our stay at the cosy apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable and close to the amenities. The garden is lovely and full of butterflies and wildlife. We hope to come again!

Great apartment with private parking, a huge bonus in Whitby. Had everything we needed, a home from home. The welcome gifts of wine & tea biscuits (delicious) were greatly appreciated, as was the thoughtful pint of milk! Clean, spacious apartment for 2 people. We found the sofa uncomfortable, the seats didnt seem to have any support or life in Read morethem. The bed whilst very comfortable is very big for the room, barely any space to get round it. We tucked the curtain behind the radiator to stop us inadvertently opening the curtains when moving around the bed, as it looks out onto the main road. Plenty of storage space & enough hangers. Its a good walk into town, 1.5 miles maybe, a bit hilly, but lovely through Pannett Park. Clean & tidy, we enjoyed our stay & would happily return. Hide

I would always recommend this apartment to friends and family especially the parking available as we always like to walk to amenities and entertainment. I would also warn them about it's position in relation to the town and the hills that have to be walked to go back and forth.

We found the apartment spot on. Very clean and tidy, well equipped, comfortable and suited all our needs. The lovely garden and was a pleasure to sit in - load of birds using the nesting boxes. Really good to have parking at the property - saved us lots of time from trying to park nearby as well as saving on the cost of parking. Walking into towRead moren took about 5 min if that, a little longer going back as it was uphill - took it easy and had no problems. A beautiful park at the corner of the street. Loved our break at this property. Hide

Very nice place, bus stop just out side the property, the only thing that I would say is that it is a long walk back up to the apartment and steep if you don't like walking it's a long way, we found it ok

Beautifully appointed, both comfortable, and modern. Off road parking a real boon. Lovely garden too. Within walking distance of Whitby harbour but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Very good TV reception, which we enjoyed as the Olympics were on! We were sad to leave - this was one of the best accommodations we have stayed in.

Lovely appartment in a beautiful old city. A place to feel at home during the holiday. We loved the walks to the town and to the cliffs. We especially loved the kitchen, where we had breakfast and dinner, and the view on the garden.
