Settle into this cosy cottage with a Mediterranean influence and elevated views over Whitby where you can dine alfresco with your small family or the other half and spend cosy evenings in the bright and airy lounge. Spend your time away delving into the town’s fascinating history, relax on the sandy beach and treat yourself to meals out at the local eateries.

Climb 41 steps to reach the property and step inside to find a welcoming and homely neutral-toned lounge. Put your feet up on the plump leather sofa or armchair and admire the views through the glass patio doors. Continue into the characterful kitchen/diner with wooden ceilings, colourful tiles and an archway connecting the two spaces. Cook a hearty meal for your guests in the ‘U’-shaped kitchen with wooden cabinets, bold red walls and a peninsula. When it’s time to eat, gather around the dining table with seating for four. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with garden access and an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs is a twin room with an en-suite shower room. Outside you will find a patio with furniture where you can relax on sunny afternoons.

Just behind the property is the 199 Steps which lead up to Whitby Abbey ruins (less than 0.5 miles). Cross the river to find the centre of the town (0.5 miles) which is home to an abundance of restaurants, cafes and shops. The cottage is ideal with a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge. The location is fantastic and having a parking space at the bottom of the steps for our small car was great. There is also a good area at the front of the cottage to relax in the sun on the loungers overlooking the wonderful view.
