There is a family bathroom and you’ll find a handy WC and tumble dryer in the garage. Soak up the sunshine in the enclosed garden, which has a patio area for al fresco dining and a lawn (up three steps) where children can play.
The cottage is just over 0.5 miles from Whitby’s main, family-friendly beach. West Cliff Beach has a 2-mile stretch of golden sand and shallow waters for bathing. There’s also a row of colourful beach huts, which can be hired during summer months. Whitby is a great base for walkers and cyclists, with the long-distance Cleveland Way passing through the town, as well as the traffic-free Cinder Track. The town is a real hub for foodies, with a fabulous array of independent restaurants showcasing local produce and fresh seafood.
