Settle in for a comfortable stay at this welcoming cottage on the edge of the Yorkshire market town of Skipton. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom abode, which also accepts dogs, is in an excellent location for enjoying the many shops, eateries and historic sights of the town, as well as heading out into the surrounding countryside. It is also just 2 miles from the fringes of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Wander inside to find airy, sunny accommodation, with ample space for everyone to spread out and enjoy some quality time together. Kick back and relax in the lounge, where you can watch TV or a DVD. Head through to the kitchen/diner to prepare delicious meals with the array of fresh produce you have bought at the market in Skipton. Choose whether to dine in here or out in the garden. Have coffee in the conservatory after dinner and perhaps read your book for a spell. When bedtime beckons, head up to the first floor of the cottage to treat yourself to a good night’s sleep in either the king-size or the twin bedroom. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom up here. Watch your pet play on the grass in the small garden as you sip a glass of wine out in the fresh air on summer evenings. Parking is on the street, subject to availability.

Stroll 0.5 miles to the famous castle, which dates back 900 years. Wander a little further on to enjoy a walk through the Castle Woods. Amble 0.5 miles alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to take a cruise out on the water. Skipton is a lovely town, with plenty of good places to eat and drink (jam session alternate Sundays at The Boathouse is a really good standard, and home made food at The Albion Inn good value). Skipton Castle woods are exceptional. Settle - Carlisle railway easy from Skipton - get off at Appleby if you dont want all day on a train. Southey St is cRead morelose to centre and well equipped. I love interior decorating so really appreciated the imaginative way that the place was designed. Besides being attractive it was highly functional. The place was quite convenient for the busses and there was a local chippy (tried - good) and Indian takeaway (maybe next time). The kitchen (which included an electric oven and a very powerful inductiRead moreon hob) and bathrooms were of a high standard. The place was very quite at night time but the very centre of Skipton was only a few streets away. The acid test is that we would definitely be happy to stay there a second time. Hide

A lovely modern improved interior at this cottage. Bathrooms were great, the conservatory is a great addition to the property. Very quiet area, within easy walking distance to Skipton town centre. Would highly recommend, short distance to local shops, Fish & Chip shop, lovely Bakery nearby, Spar mini supermarket.

We , a family of 4 (parents and 2 teenagers) enjoyed a lot our stay. The house is well situated, a 10 minutes from the center of Skipton (the street is getting down so it's a bit harder to climb it in the way back). It's in the end of the street, the railstation is just behind but it's really not a problem, very few trains and not noisy. The house Read moregave us a global impression of welcoming and sweetness. It's not a big house but every thing is here. The veranda is a plus. It was clean althought I must add it didn't match the standard we had before when booking with "hollidaycottages" in every details. Hide

This holiday cottage is in a great location to walk into Skipton and as a base for exploring further afield. It was very quiet and parking was never a problem. The owner who lives next door was very welcoming and provided milk and biscuits for our arrival. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed.

Had a lovely stay here. It's perfect as a base for exploring the Dales and is also just a few minutes walk into Skipton town centre, which is great for places to eat if cooking on holiday is not your thing! The property itself is in a quiet street, has a lovely conservatory (cool for breakfast), large kitchen and two bathrooms!
