  • Handsome stone holiday cottage in picturesque, farmland setting
  • Generous barn-style accommodation and sun-soaked courtyard garden
  • Nestled at the heart of the magnificent North York Moors National Park

Property code: OC-Y003

Tucked away in the North York Moors at the edge of Great Fryup Dale on a working farm, surrounded by fabulous countryside with incredible views from almost every window, escape to this stone-built retreat to uncover the natural beauty at the heart of the North York Moors and the Yorkshire coast a stone’s throw away.

Exposed ceiling beams, an earthy colour palette that perfectly reflects the surrounding open countryside and underfloor heating in the endlessly social lounge/kitchen/diner create a warm, cosy atmosphere that invites you to unwind weary walking muscles on the leather sofas in front of the Smart TV, whip up a delicious locally sourced feast in the contemporary kitchen and make special family memories seated around the rustic wooden dining table. As the evening draws in, you have two characterful, light-filled bedrooms to retire to that boast the same homely atmosphere as the rest of the cottage that’ll send you into a peaceful slumber before tomorrow’s adventure. On a fine summer’s evening, soak up some sunshine by dining alfresco on the patio in the courtyard garden with some stunning sunsets melting over the hillsides as your backdrop.

This remote, sleepy rural location near the hamlet of Lealholm is perfect for exploring the wonderful natural beauty of the Esk Valley; with the River Esk running through the heart of the village, there’s no shortage of unique, scenic walking trails to explore on foot, on two wheels or with four-legged friends in tow. Soak up the iconic Gothic culture of Whitby 12 miles away and while away an afternoon exploring the narrow winding streets and alleyways of the bustling town centre before admiring the striking Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey from the harbour.

What a find this was, such friendly owners and a really comfortable little cottage. Perfectly placed for the Moors and the coast. This area is truly stunning. The little village of Lealholm has a nice pub and a great village shop for basics.
