Lovely, well maintained little cottage and a fabulous indoor games area, with a warm pool to relax in. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. The tennis court could do with some tlc, but that saved me from losing to my son - again!

2 adults and a 22 month old, we booked a week for a peaceful, relaxing holiday and we certainly got that, the cottage was very clean and spacious, probably the best child friendly place I've ever stayed, no ornaments for kids to damage, equipped with travel cot, full range of baby bedding, blankets and sheets, high chair, plastic cup, plate, spoon Read moreand even a baby gate, they really have put a lot of consideration in for young children. We cooked every night, various meals and couldn't fault the fully equipped kitchen, my favourite appliance was the washer dryer, absolutely brilliant when washing baby clothes and all our swimming stuff it was washed and dried in 45 minutes, we used the bedroom with single beds and they were very comfy with plenty of storage for clothes. The pool is amazing our son had developed a fear of the swimming baths so we made the most of the pool and with the help of all the toys, inflatables and balls we left with a confident water baby, each cottage has its own slots for the pool and games room which I liked makes it more personal, the cottage is in the middle of nowhere I had done my research so packed plenty of food/drink to last us, so was happy to find they had a full size fridge freezer to store it all, also packed extra toilet roll, bin bags etc as there are no shops near by, lots of nice walks, we saw some deer just casually walking near the cottage which was lovely. The plough pub is just a few Miles drive they serve food and good quality beer, they are not open Mondays, thornton Hall farm is a fun place to visit if you have children, big soft play and animals and discounts when booked online, we took a trip to dunsop which was also lovely, finally a big thank you to Lesley who was very friendly, has good knowledge of the area and for her hard work cleaning and maintaining the pool and cottages. We will definitely come back again to this hidden gem Hide

The one major problem is noise transmission from adjoining property. Not the fault of the occupants but thin door between the two properties. Every sound was clearly audible.
