Wander across heather-covered moors, follow paths through wooded valleys or head into nearby Dalby Forest for a walk or cycle ride. There are two pubs within a mile of the village providing welcoming spots to stop for a drink and something to eat. Visit Levisham station (2 miles) and board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a nostalgic steam train journey through the surrounding landscape. The coastal towns of Whitby (16 miles) and Scarborough (20 miles) are within easy reach, with seaside walks, independent shops and places to eat. The historic city of York is a 30-mile drive, with its medieval streets and rich heritage.

This attractive ground-floor stone cottage combines traditional country charm with a contemporary farmhouse feel. There’s an inviting lounge and adjoining sitting room, both benefiting from plush seating and double-aspect views across the south-facing garden. The generous ground-floor bedroom is furnished with a super-king-size bed – a cosy, comfortable retreat after a day of rural roaming. An adjoining, fully fitted shower room completes the accommodation, with everything conveniently arranged on one level.
