Stroll out to pick up fresh bread, find a new favourite tearoom or enjoy classic pub grub in a friendly inn. This traditional cottage is just off Leyburnās bustling market square, perfectly placed for exploring the town on foot. Itās also a great base for Yorkshire Dales sightseeing, with the spectacular Aysgarth Falls less than 8 miles away. This is a romantic spot for walks, picnics and capturing the dramatic cascades on camera.
A shared gate and a couple of steps lead down to the front door of the cottage. Cross the threshold and youāll be straight into the lounge, a cosy spot to watch the Smart TV or sit in the window seat with a crime novel. The wood burner-style heater adds an after-dark ambience on a chilly evening. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped for preparing casual meals on days when youāre not eating out, or you can dine in the fresh air in the small patio garden at the front of the property. Two bedrooms offer comfortable spaces to retreat to upstairs when tiredness hits. If you have young children with you, theyāll enjoy hunkering down in the cosy bunk room while you rest in the double.
A 300-metre walk from the town centre takes you to the limestone scar of Leyburn Shawl, offering amazing views across Wensleydale. Head in the other direction from the market square and youāll reach Leyburn station, where a ride on the heritage Wensleydale Railway takes you to Leeming Bar, though do check if trains are running during your visit. Medieval fortress Bolton Castle is 6 miles away, with themed gardens, falconry displays and a maze to enjoy.
