This stylish coastal retreat places couples and solo travellers in an excellent position to explore Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and the dramatic landscapes of the North York Moors. Recently renovated in 2026, this two-storey terraced house has been thoughtfully updated with contemporary styling and characterful finishes throughout.

A small front garden leads to the entrance, with a single step up to the front door. Inside, the ground floor opens into a bright lounge with wood panelling, soft tones and an electric fire, creating a welcoming setting for evenings in with the Smart TV. The kitchen sits just beyond, designed with exposed brickwork and painted cabinetry, and equipped with everything needed for self-catering, including a dishwasher and coffee machine. A convenient cloakroom completes the lower level. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor, where a king-size bedroom with a vaulted ceiling awaits, complete with an en-suite shower room and dressing gowns for an added touch of comfort. To the rear of the property, a private outdoor seating area with a table and chairs is set up for al fresco dining. On-street parking is available nearby.

Hawsker sits on a well-trodden network of walking and cycling routes, including the Cinder Track, which runs directly through the village, while access to the Cleveland Way is 5 miles away. Robin Hood's Bay is under 2 miles from the door, known for its winding cobbled lanes, independent shops and traditional pubs beside a sandy shoreline. Intertwined with the stories of Bram Stoker's Dracula, Whitby lies 3 miles away, where visitors can search for fossils, wander the old town’s cafes and shops, or climb the 199 steps to the ruined abbey overlooking the harbour. 4 miles inland, Falling Foss waterfall is set within woodland and makes for a memorable excursion.

Ivydene cottage is great for single people or a couple looking for somewhere from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and coast, only a short drive or 15 minute bus ride from Whitby and it's many attractions, restaurants, bars and shops. Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, & Staithes are all within easy reach. The cottage which is cosily compactRead more has recently undergone a fabulous refurbishment, tastefully done to an exceptional standard with lovely furnishings, wallpapers etc. The nearby pub, The Hare and Hounds, serves fantastic food - luckily we'd booked on both occasions as it does get busy for a small village pub. No hesitation in recommending Ivydene to future guests. Hide
