This dog-friendly countryside cottage on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is perfect for a family getaway for four guests and up to two canine companions. With a sociable open-plan layout, characterful interiors and a patio, you’ll have everything you need for a memorable and cosy getaway with your loved ones. Spend your time away exploring the nearby charming Yorkshire towns, waterfalls and nature trails.

Step inside and find yourself in the green, pink and neutral-toned open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a wooden beamed ceiling. Surrounding the exposed brick inglenook fireplace with a wood burner-effect electric fire plus the Smart TV are two plaid-patterned sofas. Move past the wooden dining table to reach a fitted ‘L’-shaped kitchen unit with green cabinets and white countertops. Climb the stairs to reach a double room and a super-king-size zip-and-link room. Completing the interior is a shower room. Outside is a small patio area with a table and two chairs.

While staying in Leyburn, head into the centre of the market town to shop or dine out at one of the independent eateries (all within 0.5 miles). Step back in time with a trip to the historic Bolton Castle (6 miles) or explore the Georgian market town of Richmond (9 miles). Also nearby is the market town of Hawes (16.5 miles) and the pretty village of Askrigg (12 miles). If you’re a lover of waterfalls, visit Hardraw Force (17.5 miles) or Wensley Waterfall (1.5 miles). Hiking enthusiasts can walk along the Pennine Way (19 miles) or around Roundhill Reservoir (18 miles).

Very well appointed and good for access to town centre. Parking can be an issue due to inconsiderate vehicles in the yard, especially if you have a large car.

Ideal location for exploring the Dales.Car parking at the property was a no-go for us.The entrance was too tight to fit our small SUV through. Excellent equipment at the property.Bed very comfortable. Downside was the commercial decorating business opposite where cars were in and out of the courtyard, including late at night.

Wonderfully positioned close to the market square (Friday is a brilliant market day), and a good centre for exploring Wensley and Swale Dales and Ripon. Parking in the little courtyard was occasionally anxious-making. But the cottage was spacious, thoughtfully equipped and everyone we met was3friendly and helpful.

The Nook is a delightful little cottage right in the town centre. Its beautifully clean and tidy with good quality bed linen and towels. The plug-in night lights are a nice touch, especially when young children are in a strange place a need a dim light for security. Cooking and washing equipment is very modern, though we only used the hob to boilRead more eggs..! Lots of books available to read. Walkers will appreciate the guide books too. All in all, the property has all anyone would need to enjoy their stay. My only word of warning is that the entrance to the cottage is quite narrow. My SUV was just able to get through, but larger vehicles may struggle to get in to park outside the cottage. Hide

A wonderful cottage. Everything is either new or immaculate, and is of the highest quality and there is nothing missing, down to the finest detail. Situated right in the middle of town, there is easy access to all the shops, pubs, and restaurants nearby, and to all the North Yorkshire attractions.
