Surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this traditional stone cottage is a peaceful hideaway for couples and small families with one furry companion. From the front door there are winding trails along pastures dotted with sheep and cows. Youāre within easy reach of shops, tearooms and the River Nidd at Pateley Bridge (5 miles).
Inside, an electric fire, cream sofas and a large window overlooking the countryside create a cosy space for unwinding in the lounge or enjoying family meals at the four-seater table. Walk through to the adjoining kitchen, which has wooden worktops and white units. A door opens out to the garden, where a wooden table seating eight sits inside stone walls - a lovely space for outdoor dining. Youāll also have use of two enclosed paddocks, ideal for children and dogs to play securely. From the hallway, climb the stairs to the first floor to a twin bedroom, with hues of green and an en-suite bathroom. A double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, bedside tables and an alcove lined with books looks out onto rolling, patchwork fields. There is secure private parking for several cars.
During your stay at Dacre Banks, you can walk the Nidderdale Way, which follows the River Nidd from Pateley Bridge (5 miles) to historic sites, nature reserves and traditional villages. At Pateley Bridge, wander down the historic High Street, visit the Nidderdale Museum or enjoy afternoon tea at one of the tearooms. Further afield, explore the village of Grassington (13.5 miles) and walk to Linton Falls or head to the spa town of Harrogate (13.5 miles). Here you can relax at the Turkish Baths, amble through Valley Gardens and go shopping at the famous Montpellier Quarter.
