Explore historic Harrogate and Knaresborough from this delightful North Yorkshire annexe retreat. Sleeping just two guests, the one-bedroom single-storey hideaway makes a great option for couples eager to be close to both towns and within reach of magnificent Nidderdale and the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park. Attached to the owner’s home, but benefitting from privacy, the single-storey retreat comes with its own patio for outdoor relaxation, plus access to a shared, lawned garden.

Step inside to find airy, open-plan living with a stylish yet comfortable finish. This sun-soaked space has been carefully designed to ensure you and your loved one have everything you require throughout your stay. Prepare delicious meals for two with the Yorkshire produce you have bought in either Knaresborough or Harrogate over in the well-designed kitchen area. Pull a stool up to the breakfast bar or dine in style at the table on those occasions you choose not to eat out. Find relaxing tunes on the DAB radio or CD player then unwind on the soft seating with a glass of wine. Snuggle up together on the sofa in front of the TV on autumn and winter evenings before heading through to your king-size bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room, for a superb night’s sleep. Have morning coffee or even breakfast out on the patio on summer days. Stroll around the gardens, which were once part of an orchard, on fine evenings.

Venture 2 miles into Knaresborough to visit Mother Shipton’s Cave, see the ruins of the medieval castle and spend time at the Courthouse Museum. Shop here or in Harrogate, 2.5 miles away, where you can browse in the elegant boutiques and have afternoon tea. Plan a day trip to Bolton Abbey, 26 miles away, with its fabulous woodland walks, famous stepping stones and priory ruins.

The Lodge was amazing. It was immaculate inside, had everything you could possibly need and was very spacious. It was the nicest property we have ever stopped in.

The Lodge was immaculate on all counts, with kind and friendly hosts. The location was ideal for us with the local buses taking us to Harrogate Ripley and Knaresborough. We enjoyed our short break and we were lucky with good weather everyday. We will definately recommend this property to our family and friends.

Immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, well equipped accommodation. Perfectly situated for exploring Nidderdale and the surrounding area. The owners are on hand if needed but otherwise completely unobtrusive. We had a happy stay here and would definitely return if we are in this area. Thank you Nick and Deborah.

The Lodge was certainly the cleanest, smartest, best appointed self-catering property we have ever stayed in. Nick and Debby were great hosts, warm and friendly without being overbearing. Debby maintains a beautiful garden. Great location for getting into Harrogate, Knaresborough and York (the park and ride was a great way to get into York). RHS HaRead morerlow Carr was stunning and only a few mins drive. A bonus was the gathering of Red Kites over The Lodge late every afternoon. Hide

A lovely self-contained lodge within the owner's own house grounds. It is extremely well equipped, comfortable, clean and very easy to live in. It's location is great as Harrogate and Knaresborough are an easy drive away yet bus stops or train stations are also within short walking distances as alternatives to driving.
