At this luxury dwelling, even the dog feels pampered thanks to a designated washing area for four-legged friends. It’s 1 mile from the village of Marsden, a large Colne Valley village with plenty of pubs and restaurants, and just 6.5 miles from Huddersfield for if you fancy an urban day out.

In the delightful open-plan living area, light streams in through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and skylights. You’ll have a beautiful modern kitchen with a handy wood-topped breakfast bar, and a long dining table that invites sociable meal times. In the welcoming lounge, a wood burner keeps you on chilly nights, and there’s even a cinema room for family film viewings. In summer, the delightful garden comes into its own for pizza and BBQ parties, not to mention the private hot tub offering soul-soothing views over the surrounding countryside.

Marsden is home to the much-loved Standedge Tunnel, where you can get a taste of the region’s cultural heritage by exploring tunnels running through the Pennine hills. In Slaithwaite (2 miles), stroll down quaint, narrow streets and take the dogs on a leisurely stroll along the canal. For a bit of TV nostalgia, head to Holmfirth (8.5 miles, which served as a backdrop for the series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. The house is simply stunning - so many lovely places to spend time. We wanted to stay longer to use them all! My teenage children especially loved the cinema room. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous too. Everything was spotless, and the little hamper was a welcome touch. Sadly an honest review. We booked this for the cinema room but the projector didn't pick up the WiFi, no Amazon stick and nobody's phone could pair with it. Not using this room completely spoilt our family holiday. 3 bedroom had bulbs not working, half the cutlery was dirty with food still on them , plug socket not working so lounge TV didn't woRead morerk until we moved all the plugs , bins were 3/4 full so hardly any room for our rubbish. Apart from this the place was clean but not 100% checked over.

Response from holidaycottages.co.uk Thank you for your feedback. Were sorry to hear parts of your stay didnt meet expectations. The cinema projector had only just been installed before your arrival, and some initial setup issues affected connectivity, which has since been fully resolved. We werent made aware of these concerns during your stay, and we always encourage guests to contact our team so we can address any issues promptly. Your comments on cleanliness and maintenance have been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure our usual high standards are upheld. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear the property was otherwise clean.
