A beautifully converted barn made from striking red bricks that gleam in the Yorkshire sunshine, this lovely property is a wonderful base for a walking or cycling holiday. It’s located near the quiet village of Great Langton, and 7 miles from Northallerton, a bustling market town known for its vibrant market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays. With two double bedrooms, it’s fantastic for a small family or two couples – and two canine pals can also come along.

Formerly a part of a working farm, this renovated stable has a charming exterior and a light-filled interior that’s been completely rebuilt and refitted. The kitchen/diner has an attractive grey, black and white colour scheme, with the walls, doors and tiles all matching. A wooden dining table sets you up for cosy meals. Head upstairs to the welcoming lounge, where the grey theme continues and comfortable sofas await. After long days of tourism, switch on the Smart TV or enjoy playing board games with fellow guests. The exterior kitchen door leads to a small, decked area where you can sip morning coffee in your peaceful surroundings.

You’ll find a shop and pub around 4 miles away on the edge of Northallerton. Nearby, the Jacobean country house at Kiplin Hall (2 miles) is wonderful for a day out, with its incredible architecture and gardens. The market town of Richmond (10 miles) has a Norman castle you can visit, along with a quirky cinema and the impressive ruins of Easby Abbey. For walking, you’ll be equidistant (around 11 miles) from the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors, opening up endless opportunities for adventure and exploration in some of England’s most picturesque countryside.

A beautiful well appointed and spotlessly clean cottage. Ideal for 2 couples as each double room has an ensuite shower room. Welcoming pack with crisps, biscuits, milk, tea and coffee and a bottle of wine. Dishwasher tablets and cleaning eg cloths and washing up liquid and kitchen spray all in cottage and enough for the weekend. A lovely comfortable cottage, well maintained and equipped, very welcoming with coffee and other treats awaiting us. A little off the beaten track, but not far to drive to places like Northallerton and Richmond. A great location for visiting both the dales and North Yorkshire moors. 4th stay at The Tack Room, everything is spot on, Linda & Steve have done an amazing job on the cottage. So much to see and do in the area, youve got The Yorkshire Dales NP, Coastline, amazing pubs, cafes, towns and villages all around, great base for exploring beautiful North Yorkshire and Richmondshire. Third visit to The Tack Room, absolutely lovely property, spotless, well maintained, great location to so many market towns and under an hour drive to the coast. Lots of great pubs around the neighbouring villages serving good food. The owners Linda & Steve are two of the nicest people youll ever meet and theyve thought of everything to make your sRead moretay perfect, for those with a dog a large private field is adjacent to the property for your dog to enjoy. We stayed at the Tack Room over Christmas 2024. It really is a super property; the hosts could not be more welcoming. They had put up a tree for us and decorated with Christmas bits. We felt very welcomed. The propertys cleanliness is a 6 out of 5! Spotless! It is well equipped and comfortable for relaxing. Stunning cottage, well equipped and great location. Linda and Steve were very friendly and welcoming. The welcome gifts were a lovely surprise and after a long journey were very much appreciated. Would highly recommend this cottage.
