In the lively West Yorkshire village of Holmfirth, this mid-terrace cottage offers a cosy hideaway for two. Home to the popular TV show Last of the Summer Wine, this hidden Yorkshire gem makes a fantastic holiday destination, complete with an independent picture house, a local vineyard offering tours and experiences and easy access to some incredible walking territories. The cottage itself is a fantastically renovated yet charmingly traditional abode, complete with everything two guests may need for a romance-filled break and restful evenings in between walks and tours.

Pass through the small patio area with a designated bistro set before entering the property. Inside, you’re greeted by the cosiest ambience, stepping straight into a lounge/diner with exposed brickwork, beamed ceilings and a wood burner-effect fire neatly tucked into an original fireplace. Next door, a compact and stylishly tiled kitchen offers everything you need for rustling up meals for two. Moving upstairs, an attractive king-size bedroom laid out with a pretty window seat takes up the majority of the first floor with a neat en-suite just off it. The bathroom offers both a bath and a shower, allowing you to enjoy an invigorating shower in the morning and a luxurious soak late at night.

Holmfirth is an incredible base for outdoor enthusiasts, just 2.5 miles from the edge of the Peak District and with the Yorkshire Dales a further drive away (34 miles). A hive of activity, many circular walking routes start, end or come through Holmfirth, allowing for easy-to-follow pathways to nearby beauty spots. Explore the Ribble Ramble Walk, a 7-mile route through the Ribble Valley, or take the Last of the Summer Wine Country Walk to admire destinations from the show. Totally spotless. All the equipment we needed (and more). Perfect location. Table and chairs outside to eat, drink and listen to the river. Very quiet little cul-de-sac. Two minutes to the town centre and three to the bus station. Despite the weather we had a perfect week, thank you so much.

We loved our stay at Waterside Cottage. It's beautifully decorated and furnished, and had everything we needed. Plenty of parking close by (not all free, but reasonable rates), and great location by the river with easy access to everything in Holmfirth. Great communication with very helpful and welcoming hosts. Hoping to return soon!

I had an excellent stay at Waterside Cottage. It is very nicely located close enough to the center of Holmfirth and also to The Wrinkled Stocking Tearoom which serves excellent breakfasts. I was very warm and comfortable and can thoroughly recommend it.
