Lavender Cottage was very comfortable for our group of three adults and retriever dog. The house was clean, warm and well equipped. Although the weather was rather mixed during our stay, we did get the opportunity to sit in the enclosed garden, which is very pretty. The location of the house was very good for us, because although it is on a very buRead moresy road, you do not notice this when you are inside. The benefit is how near it is to the shops, restaurants and pubs, which we made the most of. We also liked the fact that there were some great walks straight from the cottage, so we did not need to use the cars. We would definitely recommend staying at Lavender Cottage in Helmsley. Hide

Great property with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The house is more spacious than the outside appearance suggests and is within easy walking distance of Helmsley town centre. Return home from a lovely week's holiday at this cottage. We absolutely loved it! Cottage was so tastefully decorated. So much thought has gone into it. With additional things one wouldn't expect, such as a pastry roller for example. A three minute walk to the centre. Cottage located on the main A170. So parking through the day can be an issue. WhiRead morech was a little changeling for my 86 year old mum with her walker. But it didn't spoil things and we managed. Highly recommend. Hide

Really lovely cottage, great location. Helmsley is a super little town- pretty and so historical. The Lido is a great addition if you are a swimmer. Small and friendly and not too over crowded. We will definitely be back.

This is an entirely lovely, well equipped and located cottage. A joy to be in. We would especially mention the comfort of the beds...they were cracking. The local area was also magic...we suggest booking places for dinner as we tried 2 places that were full.

A lovely, well equipped, comfortable cottage - we really appreciated the cake and milk in the fridge on our arrival! The cottage is ideally situated close to the town centre so it was easy to pop out for a bite to eat, a quick shop or to enjoy one of the great walks straight from the door. Hope to be back!
