A large, luxury, Grade II-listed home in an idyllic location atop Wessendoor Moor – Yorkshire group holidays don’t get much better than this! The splendid former weaver's cottage stands proudly at the northernmost tip of the Peak District National Park, giving you an authentic experience in rugged West Yorkshire. Whether you're drawn to the great outdoors or charmed by the quaint village life of nearby Marsden (1 mile) with its rich industrial heritage, this spot promises an unforgettable stay. And with space for seven humans and three canine companions, it’s wonderful for a trip among extended family or good friends.

This three-storey gem has been lovingly updated to blend traditional aesthetics (e.g. wooden beams and exposed stonework) with modern comforts. All of the rooms are gorgeously presented, starting with a farmhouse kitchen boasting sleek light-grey units, wooden work surfaces, white tiles, a Belfast sink and a double range cooker. Savour home-cooked meals around the hefty wood table followed by a quality coffee from the pod-style coffee machine. In the lounge, you'll find a space transformed from an old stable block into a cosy retreat with stunning valley views and a cosy wood burner. Plush sofas, a Smart TV and a selection of books help create a sanctuary of relaxation and entertainment. The four bedrooms, spread across the upper floors, offer peaceful sleeps in truly elegant settings – with the master suite providing an additional touch of luxury with its king-size bed, en-suite shower room and in-room freestanding bath. The garden is a verdant paradise, offering tiers of green space that's secure for children and pets. On the patio area, accessible from the kitchen, enjoy BBQed feasts. The property also includes a summerhouse with power and a raised deck that basks in the sunshine.

You’ll have pubs and shops within 1 mile, and access to wonderful walks right on your doorstep. Immerse yourself in the Marsden Moorlands, or meander down to Butterley Reservoir (1.5 miles) or soak up local culture, from the Standage Tunnel (2 miles) to charming shops and cafés. You’ll also have a nine-hole golf course with valley views under 0.5 miles away.

Nicely appointed cottage on the top of the moor. The dogs loved the very steep garden. The downstairs was very dog friendly with a stair gate, tiled flooring and a useful utility room for muddy paws. Dog walks just on the door step. The beds were very comfortable and the two bathrooms very pleasant

House, garden & location are lovely. Good to be able to go walking in the hills straight from the door as well as further afield. The owners have thought of lots of little details, plenty of toilet roll & soap throughout all bathrooms, basic toiletries, matches for the BBQ, welcome basket, dog towels and bowls etc. Beds are really comfortable. DefiRead morenitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a country stay, but be prepared for the steepness of garden & a hill if you walk back from Marsden Hide

Very clean , easy to find and in a good location. Lounge is uncomfortable , very cold without the heating on , the TV was too small for the room and the WIFI was terrible. The garden was great in a scruffy natural sort of way. An outside tap but no hose to wash the dogs. Very soft beds but good bathrooms. A good property but not value for money.
