We have stayed at Ferne cottage 4 or five times now and find this property clean and tidy with everything that we need. No unwanted clutter or gimmick things like hot tubs or a sauna, just important essential equipment. The property is only about 400 meters from the market square, where you will find some shops, cafe's and pubs.

A lovely property, approximately 400 metres from the market square. The property has all you need without overkill with useless items you really dont need. Ferne cottage is very well looked after, clean and pleasant, especially as its dog friendly. We have stayed here four times; and booked for next year already.

Ferne Cottage in Helmsley is a welcome delight to those of us who appreciate cleanliness to the highest degree. From the gleaming cooker to the comfort of a bed with pure white sheets and a comfortable mattress, everything was 'spot-on' perfect. (Also, I appreciated very much 'unnecessary ornaments' cluttering the cottage.) With a designated parkinRead moreg space to the rear of the cottage and a secure pebbled garden for our two Papillons Millie and Echo our stay was just perfect. We will return. Hide

A good property with adequate facilities, not,for me, luxury but functional. Great location for lots of fabulous Yorkshire scenery, at glorious Helmsley, popular but still friendly and civilised. Sensible petrol prices at the garage on the main road.

Cosy, super-comfy, spotlessly clean; and less than a five min walk to the centre of Helmsley. The town itself is very attractive, with a surprising number of independent shops and restaurants for its size, as well as a couple of pubs serving good food (tried and tested). We stayed for a week and didn't venture out at all at night as it was freezingRead more cold (snow), so the Smart TV was a definite bonus. Would definitely recommend Ferne Cottage. Hide
