Property code: OC-GHOUSE

Located within an award-winning village near Richmond, this striking Georgian residence combines refined interiors, countryside walks, and easy access to some of North Yorkshire's most celebrated destinations. Dating back to the 18th century and Grade II-listed, the house has been carefully restored to combine period architecture with contemporary comfort, creating a welcoming setting for gatherings of family and friends.

A grand entrance hall with a sweeping staircase sets an immediate sense of occasion. The kitchen sits at the heart of the home, centred around a marble island and a large dining table. French doors lead into the drawing room, where tall windows draw in natural light and look across the garden, while marble fireplaces in both principal reception rooms add a sense of heritage. A separate snug with a wood burner gives a quieter setting for film nights or time together away from the main living areas. A boot room and a cloakroom complete this level. Upstairs, the bedrooms are arranged across two floors, each designed with comfort in mind. The master suite includes a super-king bed and an en-suite with a freestanding bath, double walk-in shower, and separate WC. Four further bedrooms include a mix of en-suite and shared bathroom arrangements, offering flexibility for larger groups. At the top of the house, a family room with multiple beds sits alongside a bathroom with an egg-shaped bath and a separate shower, plus a reading nook set beneath a skylight. Outside, landscaped gardens wrap around the property, with formal planting, an expansive lawn, and sheltered seating areas for outdoor dining. Private parking is available on site.

From the doorstep, footpaths lead straight into open countryside and along the River Swale, setting the tone for days spent exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Middleton Lodge (2 miles) is nearby for those seeking a Michelin-starred restaurant, spa facilities, and landscaped gardens, while the historic market town of Richmond (3 miles) invites leisurely wandering beneath its castle walls above the river. Continue along the Swale to Easby Abbey (4 miles) before stopping in a local cafe. Barnard Castle with the Bowes Museum (10 miles), Reeth (14 miles), and the wider towns of Northallerton and Harrogate are all within easy reach for varied days out.

A fabulous house in a great location, the garden is priceless for a family gathering in the summer. The house requires some attention in some areas but is beautiful. More information what is included in the price and what you have to request would be helpful. A fantastic house for a big family gathering but a little expensive for what you get. Read more Hide
