Set in the heart of Sandsend, this stylish studio-style coastal retreat places couples or solo travellers moments from the shoreline, making it a superb base for time by the sea. The apartment comes with the added bonus of a private terrace for outdoor dining and drinks in the fresh sea air.
Accessed via a flight of traditional stone steps, head inside to a bright, open-plan interior. Vaulted ceilings and full-height glazing bring in natural light throughout the day, giving the room an airy feel. A compact kitchenette sits to one side, equipped for light meals after days spent exploring the beach. The sleeping area is arranged with a comfortable double bed and built-in storage, alongside a Smart TV for evenings indoors. A drop-leaf table with stools provides a simple dining setup, while two swivel chairs create a spot for morning coffee or a quiet drink at the end of the day. The shower room is finished in a contemporary style for a refreshing rinse at the start or end of the day. Outside, the decked terrace framed by warm stonework provides a sheltered seating area with a bistro table and chairs. On-street parking is available nearby (subject to availability), along with a pay-and-display car park approximately 100 metres away.
The village is a former fishing community with a relaxed atmosphere, known for its excellent local food scene, with cafes, pubs and restaurants within 150 metres of the door. Sandsend Beach sits just across the road (50 metres), a wide stretch of golden sand well suited to coastal walks, sunrise coffee stops and evening strolls. From here, the Cleveland Way coastal path leads directly towards Whitby (2 miles), where visitors can explore the abbey ruins, harbour and winding historic streets. Further along the coast, Runswick Bay (4.5 miles) and Robin Hood’s Bay (8 miles) each offer their own character, from sweeping sands to steep cobbled lanes and maritime history.
